Just started to watch this Battleground Brothers over the weekend. Not as exciting as the PJ. But picked up an interesting quote from one of the soldier, "The marines do not fight fair."

Example 1 :

After the first osprey landed, the second osprey came under gunshots. The escot heli return with chaingun fire and two rockets. Silenced the enemy for the night. [laugh]

Example 2 :

Afghan shooting from a far distance, the marines unable to return fire as its too far away. They deploy the Javelin missile. Finished the enemy.

I watched one ep of it too... i can only say they are damn well covered by the tanks and Cobra copters.

They had a sniper in one of the confined areas shooting at them through a 'murder hole', at the end, they used a tank to blast through the walls and possibly the sniper as well.[laugh]

The marines won due to having superior backup weapons and air support, which their govt had invested millions in developing. And they did not use chemical weapons. So it is fair.

Just caught EP2 of Battleground Brothers...seems like the marines are chasing ghosts....

I think IEDs are the main threat for them, more than the enemy combatants.

The winning part I think cos they have their own air and land support. The marines have their own attack heli and tank support. They dont have to depend on the army or air force for support. They work as a complete attacking unit.

But I notice something, they dont have water bottle and carry mineral water bottles only. Drink finish just throw. I am always looking at the pile of mineral water bottle rubbish building up in the background when they interview the commander. They never practise Reuse, Reduce n Recycle. [grin]

Cos their mission is to seek & destroy enemy, not to recycle plastic materials.... [laugh]

yup, i watch it couple or few times. V interesting.

these, i respect alot. Will salute to these heros anytime; better than our generals...... <_<

if their General is good, then they do not need PJ liao.

PJ is needed when commanders screw up their planning based on lousy intel or poor field operation.

To me, the only "hero" are the ones who goes back in body bags...
