Maxus-MIFA9 Supersonic September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 is it? most of the time i will be on 79km/h . something must be wrong with my speedometer liao. Speedometer reading on the GPS is most accurate. Speedometer will show 79km/h but GPS speed will show around 72 ~ 73km/h ....

Maxus-MIFA9 Supersonic September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 i dont drive in KPE so wont kenna summon there I stay in Toa Payoh and often use KPE to go to town areas. Very convenient and shorter time then using either CTE, Bukit Timah Road, Rochore Road, Thomson Road, etc.

Dunno read from where most vehicles will show higher speed on speedometer cause they cater for different wheel sizes and have feel good factor. Anyway in KPE, I seldom drive there but must always expect road hoggers... because lane 3 lorry 50km/h, some bugger drive at 60km/h in middle lane, most other cars will drive at 70km/h on first lane. Dleodleo Twincharged September 16, 2013 Author Share September 16, 2013 I think the speed camera take pictures randomly? I travelled KPE many times, twice saw the camera flash on other cars in the morning travelling towards town. Another time is from town to Sengkang in the afternoon, not much cars, one car sped passed us and the camera flashed. Alot of time saw many cars speed but didn't see any flash. If taken randomly, ask yourself, do you have such a good luck to escape always ...... . Escape 10 times but 1 summon come is way too much ... So...... play safe, drive according to the speed limit ...

It is a digital camera, has basically unlimited storage....if somebody speeding, why would it "give chance" like that?
Jellandross Supersonic September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 (edited) hur..... heard got ppl kana summon for doing 76km/h inside KPE ... doing 80kmph at the various camera sections will not trigger the cameras, that's for sure. i did once triggered the camera flash just under or at 90kmph during midnight when i was deep in thoughts and not watching my speedo. but no, i did not receive any summon letter and do not know why. so i surmise that the camera triggering point should be somewhere between 80-90kmph. as for getting summoned for doing 76kmph (assuming it's true), the only possibility i could think of is that the summon came directly from TP patrol cars in the tunnel, and the culprit must be doing some crazy stunt to deserve it. i encountered those Volvos a few times in the tunnel and you just have to "be respectful" to them while driving near them. while one Volvo was cruising in the middle lane, i did overtook it at lane 1 at maybe 70+kmph and i didn't get into any trouble. Alot of time saw many cars speed but didn't see any flash. electronic systems like speed cameras are not designed to behave randomly. in fact, it will be more expensive to implement speed cameras to trigger according to additional "random" algorithm/criteria. Kklee 6th Gear September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 Yes, the left most lane. The right most lane is exclusively for road hoggers only. NO, overtaking (lane) in KPE.
Kklee 6th Gear September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 How to overtake when every vehicles are going at 70km/h ..... You overtake on the right lane and have to travel at 80km/h to overtake and by the time you complete your overtaking moves, a speed camera take a nice photo of your overtaking moves, few days later couple with a letter of Sub-court's date & amount of $150 plus 6 points.... I always go past vehicles going 70km/h on their speedometer in the centre lane....
Kklee 6th Gear September 16, 2013 Share September 16, 2013 heard got ppl kana summon for doing 76km/h inside KPE ... Technically possible for those who a) use over-size tyres/rims b) pump tyres above the specs c) hot day One or two or all of the above. ↡ Advertisement
