Hi brothers,

ASOS!

my 8YO nissan QQ 2.0 (Dualis J10) propeller shaft just broke.

Self-diagnosed because steering wheel can steer left but when steer towards right, it can spin 360° but the wheels don't turn.

I looked below the dashboard and the shaft was disconnected/snapped from the joint.

Any advice?

Hi Jiinkoh,

You can get your workshop to look for used parts. This will be cheaper than new.

Thanks Mechanic bro, it's in the process now.

But my concern is, how rare is the occurrence of the issue I brought up?

Safety definitely compromised given that the ability to steer is gone at that very moment.

Last serviced by Tan Chong Motors was back in Mar 2016.

The parf  value for sylphy is pretty high. about 9k. Yes. it is spacious as compare to other sedan...

Assuming renew COE, you have forfeit you 9k. Depending on what items need to change or to be done. For my case: 5k for engine overhaul, 4k suspension changes, 4k for brake disc change+brake pad+brakepump.

So total cost keeping my sylphy= 5+4+4+9+ 50k COE price = 72k.

Comparing to a new ride of 100k with 72k, subjecting to each personal.

But my family miss the spacious in sylphy

Hi Bro, am a sunny 1.5A driver.

Saw that you changed suspension 4k??

I just changed to coilovers recently but mine wasn't even anywhere near 2k.

How come you change suspension need 4k?

Can share abit?

Hi bros, need advice and recommendations.

Just bought a used 2011 Nissan Murano. Send in Tan Chong for 119 point inspection. Came back with good condition except for loose tenioner belt. No leaks in engine or shocks. Rubber mounts looks new.
The tester fm Tan Chong tt did road test with me says it feels normal... :(
Probably we didn’t have ample test as the usual test route road behind the landed property area was quite smooth. No major potholes.

I’ve driven Jap and Conti cars.
This Murano is back breaking.
It has no problem with big humps but with small humps or potholes, it feels like your butt is hitting the floor direct with no cushion effect. But when you do the press bumper and release check, it does move and doesn't bounce.

Tires - My tires 235/65R18. Pressure reduced to 30psi instead of the 33psi recommendation specs. Still doesn’t help with the harsh ride.

Shocks - The car doesnt bounce when release after pressed down.
Supposedly no issue with shocks.

Springs - Was told the suspension springs rarely fail.

Any advice to improve ride comfort?

I too do not want to go to any workshops to change parts that doesn’t improve results, thus looking for recommendation of workshop who can likely help with problem.

Also, to improve ride comfort, any after mkt shocks to recommend?
Was advice if change shocks, keep stock springs as after mkt springs not as good. Any comments?

Thanks in advance for your advice. :)

I recently bought a 7 year old Teana and want to send it for a full servicing. Any recommendations here on reliable options other than TCM?

Thanks!

Oh 10mths left and u hvnt hit 100k...

My mechanics always say, nothing spoilt why change things.

Don't need any changes lah. Just normal changing of oil/spark plug at 100k and gearbox oil at 100k and u are good to go...

10mths ltr then change a new sylphy..ð

You can tell him there is something called preventive maintenance
