Planning to use my Garmin Nuvi 2565 for a road trip, but ......this the 2nd time my Garmin Nuvi 2565 crashed, the Garmin map disappear from the screen, but when I removed from the cradle, the map reappear again.

I even upgraded to the latest firmware and also did the factory reset (ie. hold on to the bottom right corner while power up the GPS), but after a few weeks later, the map disappear again, but when I removed from the cradle, the map reappear again. Why is that so?????

My map version are:

- 2013:20 Malfree,

- 2013:20 Malsing,

-2013:20 Navteq

Garmin SG website confirmed these are the latest maps when I connected my PC to my GPS for update, but even when I select different maps, I still get blank map. When I remove the GPS from the cradle, the maps reappear again. When I mount it back to the cradle, the map appear for a few weeks then it disappear again.

The software version: 7.20 (same version as Garmin SG website, in fact I updated the software more than twice already)

Is there a problem with Garmin 2565?

Sometime if you store your maps on the micro SD card...the card may not be able to read/retrieve the data...

try a different SD card and see if the problem is still the same...if so..prob its the GPS issue.

Or take out your SD card and use a eraser to clean the contact points.

How many maps do u hv in yr GPS?

I hv 5 n seems more than enough. I hv a Marbella n a Shinco.

Why u need so many maps n maybe it takes up so much memory that your programme dun hv enough Gigs to run the search n route programmes.

Try removing some of the unnecessary maps n see if it helps.

So when u remove the additional maps u bought, is the problem still trere?

If no, then prob u loaded too many maps n yr GPS cannot cope or there is a error in the new maps.

U can prog the start point n destination n do a SIMULATION in the GPS n see if it can guide u to the destination.

If it can do it during the simulation, then it wil work in real time. [nod]

If can simulate means can plot

it stopped midway thru "calculating"

That means there is a break in the road/route. Thats why it cannot reach the destination.

Some of my frens had this problem when ty programme their GPS to Telok Sengat.

So we drove till reach the "break" then just start again a few meters down the road n it guide to destination.

Seems there is a fault with some maps like that. [dizzy] I Dunno why??? [confused]
