you have to know that some WS charge you checking fee if you dun let them do after checking

I usually avoid places that charge a "checking fee".

Usually its cos many pple went there n found their prices too ex n never do. So ty charge a fee so even if u decide not to accept their prices, ty already made some money from u.

Same with my Samsung Handphone. I went to the agent. Ty charge just to check. If u repair, its more charges for u.

I just told then nevermind.

There are a workshop at braddell road next to a coffee shop. Do not visit them. This is my story.

I went there to fix a car alarm system and change light of console it was not properly done. My car ends up frequently has to jumpstart and also fuel guage needle fails to function properly afterwards.

They blame on the age of my car which is only 5 yrs old and they blame on my alternator but not their product. I got 2 workshops to test and alternator is ok. They told me that I have to buy this and that to improve my car electrical system and I believed it and turn out to cause more problem.

[bigcry]

In the end, I remove everything and car is ok now. Turn out the car alarm system is giving problem. I wasted thousand of dollars on that car shop.

The owner girlfriend even insulted me. The young owner said his car is BMW while mine is Jap car. Crap! Trying to insult me?

This is the type of work shop that we should boycott. Let them know that customers is the king.

Maybe u can give its name. Or slightly in code in case u feel better like that.

At least we can figure out which shop u toking about. [nod]

it all boils down to the relationship u have with the 'in-charge' of the workshop...

If it is more than just a plain customer-provider rs, and a certain level of trust, it will always be gd partnership. I cannot expect the workshop to know everything little thing on my car (since each car is different), but at least if they do what they can and feedback to me the issues truthfully, i am more than willing to pay, and there will always be another deal.

I dont know how some workshop think.. they pull a fast one.. just to make a quick buck and words spread fast isnt it? esp in modern internet era.

If a ws is lousy n ty know ty r lousy.....ty dun expect any return customers (except stoopid fools).

So every new customer is chop carrot [knife] time. [sweatdrop]

I have very good experiences with my workshops.... usually I visited on recommendation.. would not like to walk-in to a WS on my own

Car Audio and electrical needs - WS in SIMS AVENUE

Car Servicing and Repair - WS in AMK Autopoint

Car Alignment - WS in AMK Autopoint

btw, no discrimination, the 1st two WS are FT but they are real talent.......

Its all to do with high cost of doing biz here.

Most companies wil try to source the cheapest workers ty can find to keep costs low n profits high.

i went to autosaver and riverview. they do employ china workers and these 2 WS have lots of customers even on a weekday. so china workers is not a factor

Bt right, a lot of things sud b done but...............by left u seldom see it in Spore. [:(]

Here we hv to contend with high charges n crappy service. WTF. Worst is many mechs n technicians r not really qualified n most r just apprentices doing On the job training n still u end up paying fr specialist fees. [furious]

this one agree, worst case scenario would be to go back ad. at least 6mth warranty on repair jobs.

So is the workmanship good n the price reasonable then?

Most important is r the mechs qualified n experienced. Usually these r not cheap.

I never been to the 2 ws u mentioned so I wun know abt them.

You blacklist Jimmy already? [laugh]

I have stopped going there for so many years already.

Got tired of all the nonsense from there.

He was very good long ago when I first started using him abt 20 years ago but after he shift to e new shop, maybe his rental high or what so he keep pushing the stuff he sells but I find his prices higher than what I can get outside so never buy from him.

Maybe thats why he not happy n play the sabo game with me. But its more the Msian worker who does it. Dunno if was instruction from Jimmy or not.

kmk chrg 90-180 for diagnostics...

Wow. I guess its to recover the cost of their diagnostic equip. [dizzy]

But like all thinge in SG, prices always on the high side. An example is wheel alignment.

In SG ty chg abt S$60. In JB it only costs abt RM50 (S$20) for the same thing.
