Bro, pardon my very limited knowledge of the Korean War, but i think the chinese were hardly a rag tag group.. they were huge in numbers though employed peasant guerilla tactics, and had proper ORBAT..

Well organised yes. However, they are mainly composed of infantry on foot with artillery as complement. No armour no s--t. I am speaking this with reference to the common notion that technology and superior equipment are seen as force multipliers.

One thing that made the difference though. Political indoctrination was thorough and through. Every unit had a ranking political commissar who spent many hours ensuring that the morale of the ground troops was kept high and that the purpose of the entire Korean War campaign was inevitably and intricately linked to the Motherland

As I said only with Soviet backing... and with recent declassified information the Chinese conceded that by 1953... they are on the verge of total collapse (putting up a brave front is all they have, chief of defence had to implore to Mao that its no longer possible to carry on the war). they commited >1billion men in their own backyard to oust the UN... but could get no further than north of 38th parallel.

the rough gist of the korean war was this.

DPRK overwhelmed South Korea and took control everywhere.

General MacArthur lands and drove the DPRK back and advance to nearly the Yalu River.

The Chinese went in and drove the mainly American UN force back to below the 38th Parallel and then entered a stalemate because they overran and overstretched their own rudimentary supply lines.

The Americans began to drive back the Chinese and see saw about the 38th Parallel.

BTW, above 38th P is North Korea and below is current South.

The surprise attack of the chinese was pretty effective. And the UN force was already overstretched advancing to Yalu. Hence the result of the initial few months.

Due to the terrain, a lot of the fighting was more infantry based rather than armour based.

The chinese forces were huge in number. Their death toll is quite staggering also.

important part of PRC history, getting into a war to protect the communist sphere of influence just a year after PRC's founding.

even mao zedong's son died in that war.

For the military enthusiasts here. I am not very familiar with naval arms but destroyer technology has certainly evolved :o

Not true.

PRC was forced to intervene in Oct 1950 after the US-led UN troops ignore its earlier warning not to reach its border with N Korea after crossing the 38th-parallel.

Both President Truman and Gen MacArthur thought China was bluffing.

In late Sep'50, Zhou Enlai gave final warnings to US.

By mid Oct, China had 3 divisions of troops crossing the Yalu river at night.

US recon planes failed to spot PRC troop movement at night.

Problem with China is its huge inherent corruption and "in-fighting". It is rampant in every walks of life including the military. So will seriously doubt its combat effectiveness if hell were to broke loose... and those human waves techniques that they are so fond of are out-dated and negated by modern weapons...

Again.. experience is the deciding factor... combat toughened units are the critical chess pieces... if you look closely at modern Chinese war history.. they are never really fought a big conflict on their own.. WWII (with aids/training from US), Korean War (with aids/training from Soviets)... the only significant one was the Sino-Vietnam war which they took huge casualties to beat the Vietnamese.

It was always easier to guess your enemy cannot fight because of corruption, incompetence or simply they are not as well equipped.

And it is not hard to find many of China's enemy tend to under-estimate Chinese response.

China had deployed 4 regiments of tanks during the Koran conflict, most of which are based on Soviet T-34.

The Japs cannot say what's obvious due to their post war constitution restricting them having such military hardware.

Their so called destroyers are all recent built and coincide with China staking its claims on the senkaku and their aggressiveness in doing so. This is the Japs show Of force to the Chinese not to F around with them. Equipping their so called destroyers with F-35 is a distinct possibility.

Japs destroyer is even larger than the Brits Illustrious class aircraft carriers which are now turned into Helicopter carriers due to the decommissioning of the Harrier jump jets. But the Brits mini carriers still pack a punch with their complement of Apaches.

Showing the Chinese the still possess the technical know-how I'm building carriers and are a step ahead of them.

It is the same sneaky way the Nazis rearmed after WW1 to commence WW2 . Never trust the Japs. They try to change their role in history in the war under every government and their leaders' annual trips to the shrine speaks volumes about their attitude to their neighbors.

Oh, they are certainly more daring than Nazi and less ashame of their past deeds.

Guess what is the similarity between these 2 warships eventhough they are build over 100 years apart ?

Completed 1899

Japs was one of first countries to research into aircraft carrier and deploying them in large number in the 1930s.

And they are also the 1st to use carriers effectively in large scale attacks.

The Americans still remember its devastating power on 7th Dec every year since 1941.

So for Jap to build such weapons, it is like ducks taking to the water.

Both flew the imperial Nippon rising sun flag?

Yes they are shameless and believe (though they are yellow skin and likely descendents of mongoloids) they are a superior race to Asians. Infact they think they are white! Sorry, I am prejudiced against them. We must never forget their transgressions. Never. That way we will prevent a repeat of history.

It is said that the us station it's military in Japan, the real reason is to keep Japan in check and ensure they not not restart its imperialism again. Do you believe ?

Turbocharged

When its a Spade, call it Spade.

Calling Izumo as a "destroyer" is legally-correct, but factually a misnomer.

I see Japan now have at least 3 aircraft carriers - Hyūga(360), Ise ( 371) & their latest Izumo-class .

All that is missing an a wing of F-35B.

This photo comparison says it all.

Adding a wing of F-35 won't help much.. don't forget, any aircraft carrier is basically a sitting duck unless you have a complement of smaller ships around to protect it.. It's what we call the Carrier Stirke Group.. And typical CSG are bigger than the Navies of some smaller nations..

And japanese are the first asian country to invade other countries, torture the people, steal the natural resources, make the men as slave, rape the women, sell the child and destroy them including the stealing of artifacts, long invasion in korea, killing millions of chinese which some of these chinese might be our grandfather....

So japanese in the past are basterds and today japanese is the seed of those beasts. How i wish to see japanese economy fall and china economy rises as proud of the East

I also didnt support USA, cause they are same as japanese just that they did it cleanly. Tell me how many wars caused by usa in modern days? Tell me who are the kaypoh country who use satellites to spy other countries? Its the yankees

Without the us, today you are probably a japanese' slave.

Yes and some people still worship the japanese

Thats why i hate japs more than usa but still i dun like usa cos they despise the asian

Plus in fact they dont save us, they saved themselves cos japanese invaded the whole asia and if they keep quite japan will get stronger with more natural resources. They also revenge on pearl harbor actually before deciding to drop the bomb
