HSBC Sucks

Anyone encounter not receiving their bill and asking for payment? For my case I signed up with HSBC because I always use shell for my car. Till date I am waiting for the hardcopy bill so that I can verify and pay. Last night I could not use my card to pay for my petrol because it was stopped by the bank. Never in my life have I ever had any bank stop my credit before. Just want to check if anyone else encounter such issue.

By right the bank should send your hard copy of your bills. Unless they send soft copy to the customer email or you need to log in to their bank homepage to check. If you didnt pay your bills or exceeded the credit limit, you cannot use your card unless you clear your payment.

So far i have no problem with my HSBC credit card, they always send me hardcopy of my bills.

this is between you and the bank, and i believe there must be some miscommunication and you have to clarify with them and not venting in mcf.

Dun embarrass yourself if it happen to be a self pwned thread, why would a bank stop a card if you dun exit the limit?

amex encouraged me to sign up an online access to read my bills with them.

the problem is I have few transactions with them so I rarely log in and the therefore I forgot my password.

I even missed the bill with them charging me the annual fees. after two months of no payment, amex finally send me hard copy of bill for the annual fees+late payment penalty.

after that I terminate my amex card and that is the last I saw of my amex bill.

Must have activated the soft copy option only for the monthly bills without realising it. Same thing happened to me with DBS until I received the late payment notice sent by hardcopy. I quickly deactivated the soft copy and opted for hardcopy only.

Better stick with hardcopy bills. Softcopies and emails are a mess.

I think many want to go paperless but the problem is that both customers and bank are not ready for it

So end up, miscom and mistakes.....

Yeah, some banks implemented the "opt-out" scheme instead of "opt-in".

For my case, I received an automated call telling me that my credit is due. I did call up the customer service that I did not receive my bill and I would like to have my bill first to verify before I pay through internet banking. They told me that they will dispatch my bill. That was early last week. Yesterday I received another automated call reminder. As my petrol was low, I went to pump petrol and when I wanted to pay, I could not. The pump cashier told me I am not the first person encountering this problem. The amount that was due is $89 (July) and $600+ (August) which I can easily pay off once I verify the bill. I did not opt for any online/soft copy option. They also verify my home address thrice. I check my letter box everyday but no bill from HSBC.

Jman888: please do not embarrass yourself by assuming that I am venting in MCF as I am only asking if anyone else is encountering such problem, since I was told by the pump cashier

Kenny lee83 : I have already called them thrice.

since you not heave spender.. you can just ask them over the phone what you spend on...

this is what i usually do when i did not receive the bill......

i can't be bothered to wait for them to re send the bill then if late, still need call to waive late charges etc......
