Too bad this one go on Internet trying to blame Ntuc now whole world think sg driver all stupid Liao.

Haha, I always tell my wife when she first got her licence, if in doubt, always check the arrow directions on the road. If it only points straight, it means no left/right turn is allowed from that lane.

Under Highway Code. There is a code to check blind spot before switching lane. Just because she is right on one code doesn't make her not totally at fault for not checking blind spot.

To add one. IMHO The Highway Code is simply showing u when there is two car switching going out of roundabout they should go to which lane. It's not saying left most lane must turn out.

I agree with what you said on being right on a code doesn't make her totally not at fault.

NTUC made her 100% liable which is just wrong.

Their assessment is even more absurd as they think the outer lanes can go all the way to exit at 3rd/4th exit.

"After reviewing the video that you have sent, our management conclude that liability is down on your side for the above accident. We feel that you should have filtered to the left lane before making the exit into Jurong Town Hall. From the video, it seems that you are cutting through the left lane to exit.

From the design of this roundabout, we can see that the left lane has the option to either turn left (into jurong town hall road exit) or move straight (ie continue the roundabout). Hence to say that the vehicles coming from the right lane would not be allowed to turn left into Jurong Town Hall Road as it would cause danger to the vehicles on the left lane that is intending to move straight. I seek your understanding in our assessment of your case. "

Agreed. I always remember what the TP tester told me on the day I passed the practical - "You only have the right of way when it is GIVEN to you"

Turbocharged

Malaysia driving is about give and take. Singapore driving is if I have right of way, I'll insist on my way.

TS car actually is not wrong, but failed to act defensively that the other car might go straight instead of exiting the roundabout just because its on the left lane. Roundabout driving needs to anticipate/predict when the other vehicles are trying to exit.

Since the accident already occurred, I think NTUC should give the case a 50-50.

Okie... got picture got talk. Taken from google map

Here's the exit to Jurong Town Hall.

Let's say the blue lorry is the blue car in the accident and the silver car is Mr Han.

The two lanes at JTH is meant for vehicles on the outer lanes. See the red arrows.

Mr Han which is represented the silver car is clearly in the wrong if he tried to exit from the inner lane (even if his signals are turned on)

See this kind of silly stubborn driver also shake my head.

I did'nt even bother to read what TS cut and paste story. I just went into Mr Han's blog and watched the video.

This Mrs Han drives like a robot

And these kinda of robotic senseless drivers, thought that with a car camera onboard, the insurance will be in favor of them.

BEFORE WE MAKE ANY turn or filtering, use the bloody 3 mirrors or turn your head to check the side and rear.

ITs OBVIOUS Mrs Han simply accelerate and did a immediate left turn without even checking.

IF she had ran down a motorist, and the motorist died instead, will she not be guilt stricken, just by saying "the arrow says turn left WHAT" lol
