There are already talks within Grassroots that the Sunday Free Parking in HDB estates will ultimately be removed in the near future, "to better reflect and manage demand" and go towards a Car Lite Nation.

I think that is a good idea. All those carparks with free parking usually very crowded and hard to find parking. The original intention of the free parking on Sunday is so that people can drive and visit relatives on Sunday. Now not many people are visiting their relatives so I don't think this benefit is needed anymore.

Free parking on sunday is getting lesser, and free parking after 5pm i think hard to find now. Seems like all those free after 5pm in town area all no more liao?!

depend on the area.

If non-mature estate, you can find parking easily even it is free.

If mature estate and near to hawker, you cannot find parking even it is not free.

But must give atas reason to justify.

That is because nowadays cant afford car to drive and visit relatives liao... taken over by those driving there to shop at the nearby malls...

If people assume that free parking starts the same for all, drivers could get summon if park at this carpark without displaying parking coupons before 1pm?!

yeah, I saw the orange free parking sign from far so I just went in and park.

 

later then I saw the additional sign below that says its from 1pm onwards.

 

guess the regulars there already know it.
