LoL...no wonder your batt life is short. Even if you did not have this problem in the past but becoz of the heavy load, things like the alternator will deteriorate over time.

Some ppl I know they told me after they dekit their car it is much livelier to drive. That's why I keep things stock in my car. Batt can last 2 years or more. If you search you will find many ppl batt is short lived and alternator up lorry and most likely they have all kinds of things setup in their car.

Eh..my battery last me for 2.4 years. No issue so far. My in dash camera will off once engine is off.

By the way, I am not no TS.

Hi I just change my Amazon battery less than 10 month ago from AA,

however, yesterday the batt is weak and I could not start and get AA mechanical to come down and check,

he managed to jumpstart and check, his reason was the car electronic fault and not the battery, the car electronic eg: Sound system, light, video camera etc are drawing current from the battery even through the car engine is off. I try to drive the car for at least 30min after he jumpstart to charge the battery.

This morning my car could not start again, I am now waiting for AA to come and jumpstart again,

Can someone advise , is it possible on what the AA mechanical have claim?

Thanks

First thing I can see is the video cam... do you have any power saver device? If the cam still record when engine off....this could be the reason.

Dude...voltage is one thing...but what you should be concern in the amperage that your gadgets are drawing when you use them. If the draw is higher than what your battery can hold or your alternator can produce...your battery will never be charged...hence it will kaput on you all the time.

Take it like you earn 10K (your alternator is producing)...you spend 11K (your gadget drawing power from alternator and battery)...your saving account is 5K (your battery)...so every time you are using more than what you produce...off course the bank also bankrupt lah.

Get it ??

Thanks for your advise. Noted.

I also do not turn on everything when driving. I recently went Toyota servicing and also they very concern on my alternator kaput as I install alot of gadget. So far I was told ok. My car already 5.7 years liao. If really kaput, I will let go of some of my gadget.

Just up grade your alternator and battery capacity lah...dun need to give up anything.

Like your bank account...more is always a good thing...(ie produce more than what you need). But dun need to go get the biggest alternator and battery.

Does upgrading ur battery from 45amp to 60amp helps? From what I know there is so much that the stock alternator can store right even if you upgrade to a bigger battery?

stick to stock will do. But, perform some basic measures to ensure longer batt life including powering down electronic devices when arriving your carpark, off radio, satnav, aircon before reaching home.

Alternator does not store charge. It only produce charge.

If the total load exceed what the alternator can produce at any time, then it starts pulling charge out of the battery, or drain the battery.

Usually upsizing alternator and battery goes hand-in-hand or you just need to reduce the load.

You upgrade your battery provided the alternator can charge it too...

It goes in hand in hand. No point upgrading your swimming pool capacity but you use a garden hose to fill it...it will be filled eventually...but how long will it take ? So you gotta upgrade the supply as well.

And also an important factor: Space constraint in your engine bay....Bigger amp...bigger battery size.

Battery big size does not mean its big capacity...some small battery capacity is also quite good. But usually those are expensive. Like this Stinger Electronic battery...45A battery is like half the size of those lead acid battery...cost like 3-4 times more...

SPP1200.png

USD 300+ for this size.

Anyway...die hard ICE fans have been know to relocate the battery to the boot in search for more juice.

i also just had AA came to the rescue when my battery died last week, he jump start for me claim connection loose, then after he left i couldn't start again, the same guy came back and test again and confirm the battery was dead even though the 'reader' show healthy.

my batter was about 2 years and i have no gadget in the car the stock sound system. The battery guy say nowadays some car battery only last less than 1 year.
