Zakkwylde 5th Gear July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 stick to stock will do. But, perform some basic measures to ensure longer batt life including powering down electronic devices when arriving your carpark, off radio, satnav, aircon before reaching home. I will ensure everytime the car is parked, I would switch off the aircon and also the head unit. If I don't off it, the sudden power surge could damage my electronic equipment in the long run. ↡ Advertisement
Kb27 Supersonic July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 is there an aftermarket alternator in the market? Alternator must fit your car in terms of mountings/space available/drive belt type/length, and some wiring connections. They are usually sold as oem fit. If you want to modify and drop in a bigger alternator, you need to find a workshop willing to do the mix and match work.

Kb27 Supersonic July 29, 2013 Share July 29, 2013 SO would that be a recon set or brand new? Any cons to using a bigger alternator for your car? Doesn't matter if recon or new, it must fit your car. A workshop can also fabricate mounting bars to accommodate different alternator, but mounting must fit into the tight space available. Con would probably be higher fuel consumption. Some people also play with pulley size to spin faster or slower. However, it will not change the alternator capability since the components are rated to produce that much power only. Columbian78 6th Gear July 30, 2013 Share July 30, 2013 I think the reason why many forumers feel Gdspd08 is showing off is because he tried to list as many things he has added to his vehicle, to the extent that he even listed those things that are not electrical and not relevant to the title of this thread. Fire extinguisher draw current? But it's ok, it's interesting, just my observation.

Anyway, good to standby those stuff for emergency. Next time I will check properly before I post. Sorry for inconvenience cause. Just want to share something that I have installed and yet still voltage and current quite stable. If really that bad, I will delete my thread off. Once again, my sincere apologies. Very nice of you to offer your sincerest apologies. I didn't think you were showing off but i observed and tried to explain why you were perceived as such. I usually use the preview function to review my postings before submit. Only the moderator can delete the thread. Furthermore you are not the thread starter, you shouldn't delete it. You cannot even edit or delete your old posts. Or the more to exercise responsible postings. Edited July 30, 2013 by Columbian78
