Rephrase it in my thoughts which is similar,

 

For the month he was given, Albert saw that there's no unique dates in it, that's why he was sure Bernard doesn't know the birthday too.

in the first place the question said cheryl provided the day, not the date to bernard, so how can it be solved? Or are students supposed to 2nd guess what that's supposed to mean? Can someone find out which school n teacher did this?

fair enough... am under the assumption one was told the DATE... the other the MONTH [:)]

Day is correct. Businesses refer "dd" in the in "dd/mm/yyyy" as day.

Actually all those guy give the wrong answer...

The answer is not 17 aug. correct answer is 15 may...

 

Cause that's the youngest date. Every girl like people to call them young.

Singapore girl , you know her age by the first 2 digits of her IC .

 

Msian girl , you know her birthday from the first 6 digits of IC .

some of the Malaysia passports I saw, their IC no is not a combination of date of birth.

 

it is something like " AA12345 ". That's all that is written under the IC column.

It is actually a Math Olympiad Qn for Sec 3 and 4 pupils. Really crazy to set for P5 pupils.
