ricleosg 4th Gear July 16, 2015 Share July 16, 2015 anyone here updated their eurostyle GPS? Truelim Neutral Newbie July 16, 2015 Share July 16, 2015 This is my first time posting :- I feel that Car are expensive now and we need to drive more than 7 years above so that the depreciation will be minimum. That's why as a driver we require as much gadgets as possible so that we will not feel boring after driving a few years. This is how I feel. Do not mind to pay extra 5K - 7K for the in built gadgets. It says 8.6/100km on display (btw I did't reset it till date) got the car for like 2 months now i think. BUT!! when i calculated from last pump to my next pump and the distance i travel it's actually worst than display leh! Display: 8.6/100km is about = 11.63km/L Manual caculation: = 10.65km/L And I see the brothers here getting 7.5 + - /100km = 13.33km/L Am I am using 98 Zzzz really don't know what is wrong. Is it because my car is EX the rim smaller so FC lousier? Most of time driving expressway =.= ok maybe 60% expressway 40% small road FML The displayed value appears to be 'better' than reality by ~0.4l/100km. I drive an EX too. I get ~6.4l/100km (displayed) if my speed average 44km/h. It drops to ~7.6l/100km (displayed) when my average speed is 35km/h. I suggest you read your FC with the average speed if you wish to compare, as that would have included traffic speed, stop time, etc...

ricleosg 4th Gear July 16, 2015 Share July 16, 2015 (edited) hehe your method shld be accurate up to a certain % but not 100%. cuz the "full tank" definition may be different for each pump attendent. some will pump until nearly overflow and consider full, some will pump less. so the 40 litres we pump now may be slightly more or less than how much was used for the 500km. But i think at most +- 5% error la so shld be acceptable. will take note for my next pump. question on car comparison...everyone will feel defensive if someone says your car is not worth it. so the debates go on and on. hyundai and kia all sama sama to me hehe.... if compare kia to audi more interesting, since people say KIA is Koreans Imitating Audi. Kiat626 1st Gear July 16, 2015 Share July 16, 2015 Ask attendant to let the pump auto-stop. That should be consistent enough. The owner manual also advised to use this method to prevent damage to the emission system. Though some attendant nod head but still squeeze to round off the dollar. Please go test drive - facelift Elantra has this, I know that much 3. 16inch wheels are lighter thus more fuel efficient. if trade in when new max pay 500 for 17inch - depends on what they're made of. 16" is not always lighter... but anyway you should know by now SGP like large rims 4. There is bluetooth to your phone. im driving the gls fl model also have. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT - I expect the car to have Bluetooth, but I don't see the controls. 5. Do you really need to keep adjusting the steering wheel. If you need the telescopic instead of moving your seat means u have long legs and short hands. like a t rex - you are now just being bullish. I've sat in some cars where without telescopic adjustment you can only sit uncomfortably close to the front of the car leaving insufficient legroom. And I'm not really "above average", I think. It's an even more important point if you share your car with others. 6. The fl elite model has dual zone climate control too. Again please get your facts right. - honestly, I can't see anything in the showroom cars that look anything like automatic dual-zone air-conditioning controls. They look completely like manual single-zone controls. 7. Singapore so hot still need heated seats. - night time, sometimes it's cold or you have those kind of passenger that need some warmth on their back, especially if you just ran through our tropical rain? Or when you drive up to Genting? Please widen your mind. I agree that i do not need this and rather have cooled seats, but there are reasons for everything. 8. Do you always need to move your seat. if you are the main driver you will never get to use it. - Memory seats will remember positions for you and at least one other main family driver. With my current manual seats I always feel "wrong" when I get back into the car and have to readjust after someone else has driven. 9. For the tail lights can buy from tao bao. 350sgd. i install for u. 10. Singapore has many 60degree hills that u need to climb. - if we have so many hills, why are you saying we don't need HSA then? 11. does it matter if its locally or factory fitted leather. still leather. - you might not have the discerning eye then to tell that factory fitted leather is often of substantially superior worksmanship, whether it is double in-seam stitching or what not. And local leather from a budget-targeting dealer like Komoco? 12. elantra elite has integrated gps as well. so this comment is redundant 13. electronic rear view mirror +100 to change. - aren't both brands using this? omv: elantra 14k. k3 sport abt18k. 10yrs scrap diff 2k so in terms of price. 10k-2k-200(HID)-500 (Wheels)-350(LED tail light)-100 (electrochromatic rearview) = 6850 you save lets give another rebate of 10% as my price may not be 100%accurate im leaft with 6k. you you tell me. you spend 6k extra for things tgat you do not use? So these are all things people who are buying this car intend to use. On Cheefarn's photos from SGCM, I still do not see bluetooth controls and dual-zone aircon. That looks 100% like manual single-zone to me. Furthermore, it's labelled Elantra Elite in the review. Your photo of your Elantra GLS furthermore also doesn't show bluetooth controls. Having seen your other posts, yes we get it, you love your Elantra and it's the better car than the Forte for everything... But please, widen your mind - for everything you think is useless, there is someone who believes there is a genuine point to it. For me, I would rather buy the well-equipped Forte SX-S than an Elantra Elite, because it has "$6k extra of things" that I will use.

But choosing cars is more than just comparing feature to feature, there is also the design appeal and x-factor which varies from person to person. To be frank, Elantra was among my shortlist when I was looking for a new car late last year. The others were K3 and Mazda3. Design-wise, Mazda 3 was the best. It has the most conti look, both interior and exterior, with the right amount of curves without going overboard. It only lost out due to the low equipment/feature set and cramped rear. K3 is more spacious, has more premium features/equipment which I like and also a conti look although design is slightly lagging the Mazda 3. Elantra, on the other hand, seems to be over-designed, especially the front dash area. Too much curves on the central console and steering wheel, just make it looks weird, like some Japanese makes. Simplicity is key and that is what I like about K3. It helps that Kia got an ex-Audi designer to design their cars and the K3 interior has that more executive look. Just my personal opinion. Hope no offence. ↡ Advertisement
