Yes, I switched to 92 after pumping 1st tank with 95.

Today is my 3rd tank and I continued with 92.

I don't buy the idea of 95 being a "better petrol" when owner manual says 91 is the minimum; and based on the fact that RON is meant to prevent detonation.

My route and high percentage of highway definitely helped.

like many here, i buy at my convenient petrol station which is Shell. Will try out ESSO for the Ron92. Maybe i can save a few cents. [nod]

I don't know can this question apply to SX because I'm driving an EX with manual air con.

My idle rpm is 700 when I set the blower speed to 1 or 2.

Idle rpm will step up to 900 when I set the blower speed to 3 or 4.

Is this the same observation by the EX bros?

When I had my GD1, I pumped 92. It went on for some time without problem.

Then one day, the cel indicator lit up. I sent the car in for check. They scanned and found the O2 sensor was faulty. They reset it and the cel indicator went off. I paid $60 for the service. Later, the problem returned. The Mechs could not do anything.

I changed to RON 95. The problem disappeared!

What is the minimum RON your owner manual stated?

Hi. i also have similar sympton on my K3. Idle went up to around 900rpm at speed 3 and 4.

Not sure is this a fault ?

Any other k3 owner have similar experience...

It is normal, modern cars idling speed adjust itself, depends on the load of the alternator, compressor,as long as not over 1000 rpm..then it is normal.

oh, even alternator load is taken into account now.

that explains. [thumbsup]

Yes,because Car Mfg knew now owners will complain if the car's vibrations are too much,so they make the idling speed adjust itself,so less vibration is felt.

Can I ask... Why did you guys choose K3 over Elantra? I'm caught between the two now...

Based on emo, good and want to have features.

Emo:

Prefer K3's design in and out.

Just could not appreciate Elantra's center console design and steering wheel.

Have to see and touch every day, so got to like it.

Felt Elantra cabin sounded noiser and more vibration than K3 during test drive.

Features:

Not fair cos for some, one have but the other not.

For preferred and can close one eye (can live without) feature, K3 gained more.

Actually features is to convince myself that I make a sensible choice.

If K3 had a K5 center console and steering wheel, I may have settled for Elantra.

are you using the spare tyre now? The size is quite common. most tyre shops should stock it.

love at first sight, addicted after test drive... [sunny]

I think more important is how you feel and what is more important to you. There are good and bad for any car makes and model.

hint: did you find any K3 in used car section?? :D

For me, everyday i feel good when driving it ..the cockpit and car overall outlook is trendy and not so "Ah Pek" look.

Though i knew that fuel consumption may not be the best.

I still choose Kia...
