KIA K3 Owners check-in!

I booked a L from the CNY promo with non-gtd COE. Good deal or not, don't care lah. I love the 16" rim and those beautifying add-on of the EX very much. But for 8k difference, my wallet commanded to keep within budget! Since non-gtd coe, now just wait for luck, else will take back my deposit, and worse don't drive. Put all the above aside, not important.

If get...I will put on a 17" light OZ wheel like the ALLEGGERITA HLT showed in this thread after collecting it. But can it fit perfectly without rubbing? Any reasonable shop to recommend?

Does the L version has dual clutch? I remembered the SE told me that engine and gear box are the same for all version. Forgot to check if L got the +/- shift. I think the sport/eco mode that is missing in the L is just ECU control. So far, any issue encountered with the gear?

Anyway, after reading this thread, I have great confident that K3 is actually a good reliable car, but only poor in pick up and FC.

Hope to chat with you guys further if the fate of owning a K3 is on my side.

able to share the price and goodies u squeeze from the SE?

Price as per their download pricelist. I'm lousy in bargaining. Just take what the SE offer. I wanted the 16" wheel as per the EX, but he said that's something that money cannot buy either because it came default with the version. Else, the Motrex and leather seat all in.

Besides, I really don't know, as what he also asked me, what goodies I want. I believed many others will definitely have better deal than me. Hahaha!

Hi , open the passenger side front door , at the edge of dashboard there is a key hole,

use your car key n turn it. I think its available since the earlier Advante era.

Yup , fully agreed that CC is good , first 2 month of ownership , never use CC as still trying to

get use to car , FC is between 11.3~11.8km/L.

After start using CC i can get 12.4~12.8km/L.

$150 is good price , does it include labour ? Cos i was charged $180 , merely with addition of call buttons nia.

I was following this mod and looking forward to get mine replace immediately after I collect the car. But it seems to have lost the discussion half way along the thread.

Wish to confirm please, hence are the cruise control wiring all ready for plug and play at the steering wheel? So, just replace the panel, all features (including audio, phone controls) will be awaken?

Please PM me the shop name. Do I need to order the panel from taobao, or the shop will have it?

My friend just shared with me that K3 uses dual DRY clutch. A good practice to extend its life is to pull handbrake before pushing gear to PARK. Does this sound logical or just hear say? The brake will still need to be pressed before the gear can be pushed.

The logic may be to ensure (add handbrake) the car is completely stop before shifting to park, which is a standard for all auto tranny cars.

I read somewhere that it is best to shift into N and pull handbrake then depress the footbrakes and shift into P. This is done to place the weight of the car onto the brakes instead of the gears, thereby extending its lifespan.

Been doing this and forcing my wife to do the same.

On my previous ride, gear shift from P to D is smoother and less forceful.

hi all,

can anyone confirm latest kia SX doesnt come with blind spot detection?

there is no way to turn this feature on.

There is no blind spot detection for K3 unless you pay extra $1K for special order.

Hi multi,

Thank! Guess I was kind of misled by the brochure.

SE never clarify too sigh

There are many other features available for K3 but CnC did not include it fr our local market.....

Isn't it better to press the brake pedal, pull handbrake, shift gear lever to P and release brake pedal in that order?...

No need.. 5k is tyre rotation. Oil change is every 10k/6months.

5,000km intervals for tyre rotation is set by Cycle & Carriage.

The industry standard for decades has been 10,000km.

Unnecessary and frequent removal of rims for tyre rotation will cause pre mature wear and tear of the internal and external screw thread. More so if the nut is not manually inserted into the thread and screwed in manually for the first few clockwise turns before using the machine to tighten.

From a business perspective, this is an excellent move for generating additional revenue.

That's what most do. However feedback it's that sometimes it's difficult to shift from P to D or R

Oh sorry forgot to mention; after shifting to N, gotta release the foot brake after pulling the handbrake to place the weight of the car onto the brakes.

Then depress the brakes and shift into P.

Added steps but im just being cautious.
