I test drove the SX model, the usual 10k discount for inhouse and trade in...

Didn't push SE further cause not committing yet.. just gauging the ballpark..

Really? The SE said must pay 1k for the HU/Reverse camera. And alot of accessories at 50% off (need to pay half of the cost).

Thanks for the input..

Before I read in earlier posts other bros suggest you negotiate the price to the lowest possible first.. Once you more or less satisfied with it already then start asking for freebies.. I also pay additional 50% for the DVR..

Wait till you are ready to sign then push the SE for more. Like Motrex HU, Dash cam front and back, solar flim, floor mat, magnetic window shield etc

Hi all,

Considering to get K3 over the next few weeks and appreciate some feedback:

1. Whats the latest price/package like? Any free servicing?

2. for those who have driven the new model, whats the FC like?

3. How much are the regular servicing at AD?

I don't do much mileage and less than 2k so far with the new K3

but on NSH FC was above 17Km/l

But around town is below 10Km/l.

I consider myself light footed. [laugh]

Funny thing was it took me a while to get used to the drive.

But now I like it.

For those asking for fuel consumption figures, just note that it depends very much on your driving habits.

Are you the type who must be first off at the traffic lights? Are you the type who will close the gap while on the highway? Are you the type to cut in and out of lanes to get faster? If your driving habit is like that, then expect anything from 8-11 km/L.

Are you a gentle driver? Do you take your time to pick up slowly? Do you keep to your lane and keep your distance on any road? Do you cruise at constant speed on the highways within the stipulated speed limits? If there's a slowdown on the highway, do you slowly creep back to highway prefer? If your driving habit is like this, expect anything from 14-16 km/L.

If your habit is anything in between, then you're looking at 12-13 km/L...

If you drive often during peak traffic conditions, then dock 3-5 km/L from the above figures.

To monitor your fuel consumption, track the one trip fuel consumption figure that pops up when you turn off the engine. You get to see the distance of that trip plus the fuel consumption. That's the real figure for that trip alone. The figure you see in the trip computer when the engine is on - that's the average value over the tank of fuel before you top up. The higher this value, it simply means you have more trips that are fuel efficient. So you should try to keep this average value as high as possible.

Since the Forte is reasonably common nowadays, a third party key shop might be able to dupe you a fob. If yours is the passive keyless system however you might prefer to obtain an original remote from your C&C dealer/workshop and have it programmed by them.

Or you can try to source and order the fob online, then bring it to the workshop for programming.

Oh yes. It is the passive key ? Means I don't mean press any button on the key. I walked near it and just press the door and it opened. And I don't need to put the key into the car to start the engine. It is just a button on the right side.

Sorry. Don't know how to say the above in the technical terms. Old Uncle here :)

Correct. Passive entry is the most widely accepted term for the feature where you can just approach/touch the door/reach for handle/etc. without handling the key as long as it's with you.

As for price it's probably going to be maybe $150~$300 for a each additional keyless transponder. They're a pretty pricey service.  <_<

Wow. Painful. That would be done at Kia (C&C) ? Just bring my original car key to them will do ?

Yeah, I expect that around $200 for an original fob plus programming, maybe more. I was quoted $200 for a fob from my my dealer (not KIA or C&C mind you) which also features passive keyless access.

You just gotta go there with your car, and probably do a little bit of identity verification, then they can program a new key to your car. They may or may not need your old key; I know that the dealer only needs the vehicle in question if say the original keys are lost.

That said I ought to point out that with keyless systems like these the typical SOP in the event of a lost key is to reprogram both the car and existing keys so that the lost one can't be used by a renegade. And programming sure has service fee, so keep them safe  [:)]
