After reading some of the postings in this forum, I consider myself very lucky to have secured my coe on first bidding attempt after placing my order with C&C on standard package in mid Feb 16. My car was also collected within the next 2 weeks in early Mar 16. From ordering to collection, it only took 20 days.

Very lucky indeed.

Two school of thoughts.

The first says tinting in for 1st 1000km.

The second says no need to run in.

Either way, you already exceeded the 1st 1000km.

As for me, I drive the car based on the road conditions. Drive gently to conserve petrol but no qualms to push the car hard if needed.

Ya K3 can pick up speed quite fast. Still abit not used to the driving viewing angle when squeezing tight spaces and turning carpark.

Run in usually for first 1000 km only. It's not only about the run in period, after that you should still avoid hard acceleration during the first 10 minutes of driving as the engine oil is still warming up.

Our car seems to warm up quite fast. By the time I exit mscp. Temp gauge already at 90degree Celsius.

That is coolant temperature, different from engine oil temperature. It should finish warming up within 1-2 minutes of driving.

Oh thanks for the info. Does anyone knows where to buy good quality car mats? The stock mats very low quality. And I don't want those 3A / 3M car mats that traps dust.

It seems that some may have bought it under the leasing scheme...low downpayment, high interest? downpayment of 8,999 and mthly instalment of 944 as advertised in sat'S papers...no idea how that works.

it is a platinium package (ie, with 2 bids guaranteed) at $89,999/. As I wanted to make a full settlement without taking any Loan , I need to pay additional $1k to $90,000/ . Also, without 1 year free servicing.

Welcome to the club.

Not so sure ! But I saw quite a good crowd gathered at the Kia Forte K3 car there viewing the Car. Also, about 6 to 7 tables were occupied with Sales Rep and customers.

Initially I was very interested in Nissan Sylphy.  However, after reading the Reviews and also noted that it is made in Thailand, I changed my mind.  finally settled with Kia Forte K3. Hope I made a right decision ! [rolleyes]

Oh now so ex liao. Anyway congrats and welcome to the club. I've been driving k3 SX for about 3 weeks and enjoying it. No regret at all. Have problem turning tight car parks as the wheel base is longer and wider. Boot also higher so can't see anything behind. Matter of time in getting used to it but always hit mscp kerb on rear wheel when turning.

You may want to get the circular convex mirrors and stick them on your wing mirror. Then you won't hit the rear wheels. Will damage your rims. Heartache. The car so new.

Dear Bros, how long do u need to wait to collect the car after reg?

I collected car next day upon registration. I can't accept waiting for 3 days. Lugi 3 days of Coe , road tax, insurance etc.

May I know what steering mode you guys are using? I feel it's too light on comfort, no feeling. On normal, too heavy. Can't get a balance.

Normal mode in city driving. Sport mode during expressway driving. Hardly ever use Comfort, cos too light.
