That is the exact purpose of cruise control. To maintain the car's speed for you.

If fuel consumption is your number one priority, the Koreans are behind in this regard. But compared to the Lancer EX, the K3 should be better. Most people are reporting 9.5~10.5, sometimes 12.5km/l on the K3.

If fuel efficiency rates very highly for you I recommend you go for the Mazda3 (I noticed you are also looking at this). If a little bit more money is okay for you but you want both power and fuel economy, you can consider Volkswagen Golf or Peugeot 308 (both can do 17.5km/l).

If cheapo car is also your objective and you don't care about frills and gizmos, Mitsubishi Attrage also can do 12.5~20km/l. Attrage underpowered though so it will need to rev a lot to get around, making it hard to attain more than 14.5km/l I think.

Thks...just tested the Slyphy......108k....faintz!

I think K3 and Mz3 have ended up around $110k+ nowdays if you looking at their deluxe models due to rise in COE. Mazda also price been climbing disproportionately vs COE due to their popularity.

I think he's not referrin to the basic EX models.

I'm getting 12.3km/hr heavy footed, and always paddle shift rev. If light footed, almoat 100% auto getting up to 14-15.4km/ltr

Ya... I don't recommend K3 SX. Not really worth it, only SX is worth while since it has all the luxuries of a more expensive car even if it don't have the performance.

Mazda3 is probably still a better choice if you want the entry level models

Any K3 owners here who booked the non guaranteed package secured their COE within 6 bids on recent months?

I wanted to book the K3 EX at $95K but the Sales Consultant said that I am unlikely to secure COE unless Cat A falls to $50K or less (COE rebate level @ $50K). He also said that the trade in value for my existing car would be lower if I do not take the guaranteed package which costs an extra $4K. Not sure if this is a sales trick?

I am not in favor of paying an extra $4K for guaranteed COE. Why allow Cycle & Carriage to push up COE prices at the expense of our hard earned money?

Anyone here got your K3 on non guaranteed COE package recently?

If the COE rebate is at 50K, then probably you won't get your car soon unless the COE drop to around 53K. Most of the dealers will only bid at around COE rebate + 2k to 5k depends on their profit margin.

Kia and Hyundai both are having low profit margin of less than 10K, meaning they cannot bid too high above the rebate amount.

I think Kia offer another non-guarantee COE package rebate at 54k or above which will bring the price to 99k or 100K.

By looking at how much the dealers are making from their cars from the past records, you'll know how much they can bid above the offer COE rebate.

That is very impressive at up to 15.4km/l for a Korean marque where the body is usually heavy.

Are these figures derived from the on board computer or based on manual calculation of litres pumped divide by km travelled?

Not true for Mitsubishi, Tkseah got his ride at $57k coe. The rebate level was $48k, got it on first bid. The car costs only $84k, CC made only a profit of, 6k on his sales.

Why must die die buy k3.

Honestly I dont think all korean marque are heavy. Other cars like Altis/Mazda are about the same or heavy.

Prefer a more heavy & stable car. Have you tried cornering at 70km/hr with a 1000kg car (not lowered), you'll feel like flying.

I guess everybody driving style is different, being a seasoned driver I do not waste petrol trying to keep up at less than 50cm of the car in front. I plan every lane cutting, and throttle controlling by anticipating the traffic condition in front, left and right, all in split seconds.

I always keep my fuel "fresh" by pumping in mid week, approx 20litre+- each time. Anyway I seen some bros odo clocking at 600km, I'm not the only one

Really depends on the dealer... I typically see more like a $5k difference...

Mercedes never fails to bid high but their rebate is like 25k below the current rate

Thanks for your insight.

How do you usually calculate your mileage?

1) Based on the on board computer display, or

2) Based on manual calculation of litres pumped divide by km travelled?

I bought my SX at 104,999 non guaranteed COE last thurs.

According to SA, chances quite okay. So I just took the non guaranteed. No point spending 5k more for the guaranteed I feel. Yeap. Fingers crossed!

Hi Javier, can I check if your price at 104999 is with the 3 year servicing package?

And what freebies did you get from your SA?

Thanks in advance.

Nope. To have the 3 years servicing package, you'll have to take the guaranteed pricing which is 108,999.

I managed to get the paint protection system and the eurostyle multimedia system. Also, I didn't have a car to trade in but the SA still have me the trade in discount which was $3000. Yup. :) are you planning to get a K3 too?

I visited the showroom about 2 weeks ago when the price was 102999 but was undecided then.

Had a call couple of days ago and was offered the old price if i placed the deposit this weekend. Went down yesterday and had the 3yr servicing package included for additional $2k.
