EWander 6th Gear June 8, 2016 Share June 8, 2016 I notice the RPM is higher on K3 compare to Vezel when driving, on cruising around 80KM/H K3 is around 2 while Vezel is 1.3 and when I pick up speed/changing gear its hitting 3 while Vezel is at most 2/2.5. This should account for the higher FC? If we adjust the idling RPM will it impact the drive/power? My Rikecool bubbled after 1 week, went back, they 'fixed' for me....hopefully it wont happen again. Attitude wise they r ok but I guess some bros r rite here on choosing other options for solar film

Seems very low..I would presume bigger capacity cars only rev lower at this rpm/speed bec their engine capacity is bigger.. rpm when revving will be high, depends on your footing.. Mine abt 2.5k before auto trans change gears.. I wouldn't take too much notice of the rpm or fuel consumption, just enjoy the ride...

That's why Vezel "boh luck".

Attitude wise they r ok but I guess some bros r rite here on choosing other options for solar film It's the gearing ratios. To save fuel, the top gear ratio can be geared higher (in this case 6th gear). This means that at cruising speeds, the RPM is lower and fuel is saved. But it also means that the gear ratios between the 1st to 6th would be quite widely spaced out. And that would mean that pick up is poor. The total or final gearing ratios are a function of engine power, and the manufacturers can only play around with the spacing between gears, and so with only 129 bhp on tap for the Vezel, you can't expect tall fuel saving gearing on 6th gear and good pick up through the first five gears. Some manufacturers try to 'cheat' by spacing out the gearing differently by gearing the first two or three gears closer for better pick up but it usually results in a flat spot for 4th and 5th gears. Which means that when you need to overtake a cruising speeds, you find that the car is rather unresponsive and the RPM climbs sky high yet the car isn't really accelerating much. Basically for all 1.6 L cars, the engine power is limited to 130 bhp now, all of them will drive similarly... how fast you can pick up depends on the gearing ratios and how prepared you are to step on it. If you check out the gearing ratios for a set of Japanese and Korean and Continental 1.6 L engines, they're all within a certain ballpark.... can't run away from the physics.
