teomingern 6th Gear April 27, 2016 Share April 27, 2016 K3 price up again, my dream never come true Which model are you looking for? EX or SX? I think below $100,000 for SX is very good already. Don't dream of the COE crashing... it won't. Demand is super high still.
EWander 6th Gear April 27, 2016 Share April 27, 2016 Hi Everybody just made a downpayment for the K3 SX model. Decided against waiting for the new facelift.. $97549 with guaranteed 6 bid COE. I also realised that now C&C offering Uber Scheme. Downpayment 10-15% and strecth up to 10 years with 3.98 interest. Wow $97549, guess people like me taking non guarantee at $ 92999 will never get my car, hahah and that was just 2 weeks ago...

Otherwise just take a punt... though I think won't get at $92,999. Cos C&C will just bid at $39,999 for your COE.

zwanson Neutral Newbie April 27, 2016 Share April 27, 2016 Advise needed. I had book a kia k3 SX model 6 non-guarantee bid after the Feb 2nd bidding. Currently, I'm left with 2 more bidding. Before the April 2nd bid my SE actually ask me to top up a 6k to switch to guarantee bid which I forgo this top up. This morning I receive a msg from my SE asking me to top up a 7k to switch to 2 guarantee bid as I had only left with 2 bid if I don't want to top up I can choose to cancel my coe bidding immediately. So I told my SE that I still stick with the non guarantee bid as I had left with 2 more bidding only and I won't top up. But he message me telling me that he will release the car I reserved for sales. In the event of I manage to secure a COE in this 2 bids I will have to choose a new car. Can the SE just release the car which had been reserved and sign in the contract?

If I don't get it maybe I will switch to an Elantra or jus sit and wait for the new K3 facelift. Or maybe jus do without a car as its not cost efficient hahaha(basically lazy and over reliant on a car)

Can the SE just release the car which had been reserved and sign in the contract? The COE system is totally unfair to the buyers. We sign a conditional contract with the car dealers and it give them a loop hole to get out when COE prices go up but does not allow buyers to get out when COE prices fall. The strangest and most ridiculous thing is that buyers need to put a substantial down payment. In the financial world, the buyers would be the ones holding the option finger out when things are unfavorable since we buy that option with the down payment. Buyers gets the shorter ending the stick. The problem is that buyers are so used to the unfair system and desperate to buy and hence nothing will change. When COE prices are rising, it will work against you not to top out because the next car you book is going to coercion even more!

Unfortunately, there's a clause regarding the bidding that says something in the line of dealer reserves the right to not place any bids in the 6 rounds of bidding. If you signed the contract with the clause on it, then the dealer has the right to do it. Highly likely the contract will not say that they are to hold a car for you during the bidding period too. Jagash Neutral Newbie April 27, 2016 Share April 27, 2016 It's already been that way for more than a decadeCOE system started in 1990. It is 26 years old. Car dealers are the beneficiary and off course it's revenue for our reserves. As long as buyers say "bo pian" then why change. You go any other country to buy a car, buyers has the right to cancel the contract and forfeit the deposit. Here, car dealers can cancel the contract by bidding low COE price and don't need to compensate.
