Jman888 Moderator July 22, 2013 Share July 22, 2013 (edited) dun play play! :D Lim Boon Heng to take over as chairman of Temasek Holdings from S. Dhanabalan Published on Jul 22, 2013 Mr Lim Boon Heng (left), will take over as Temasek Holdings Chairman from Mr S Dhanabalan (right) from Aug 1. -- PHOTOS: DESMOND WEE, TEMASEK HOLDINGS By Robin Chan Temasek Holdings chairman S. Dhanabalan, 75, is retiring after 17 years as chairman of the Singapore investment company. His successor is former labour chief Lim Boon Heng, 65, who will take over on August 1. Mr Dhanabalan, who had a sterling career as a Cabinet minister and chairman of both DBS and Singapore Airlines, leaves on a high note as the value of Temasek's portfolio rose to a fresh record of $215 billion as at March 31 this year. But he noted that the board and management are aware that Temasek "cannot remain where it is" and said his successor will face challenges in keeping the portfolio of investments on "a steady trend" in an increasingly volatile world. Alheych 6th Gear July 22, 2013 Share July 22, 2013 Lim Boon Heng is not a force to be discounted. He remained firmly in cabinet for 18 years, and remarkably, for the 18 years from 1993 to 2011 he did not lead a single ministry. He was either Minister without Portfolio, or later Minister in the Prime Minister's Office. When he stepped down as NTUC Secretary General in 2007, it was expected that he would leave cabinet. Instead, he stayed another 4 years. So... not simple, not simple.

In chinese, Minister without Portfolio translate as 不管部长 the first time when i heard of this name, i thought it means anything also "don't care"
