depend on what the description the person gave. if only say, got tree and building around without giving a rough location, how to go to the destination.

I think the lady is clutching some straws in panic (kalang kabo) and the mata also cannot make sense of what she's saying.

Give lamp pole number will do :D

[thumbsup][thumbsup][thumbsup]

i think that time NPark also got say they know exactly SG got how many trees and where

maybe they should also tag their trees with numbers so that if the crime took place in some really woo lu training area, can report the tree number to police [idea]

According to the report, the caller could not give the exact location of the incident. Hence, the one managed the hotline said those words to her. Of course, he could be more tactful. But basically what the mata said was not wrong. You can't possibly called a police car running up and down the whole road looking for the caller.

Wonder why in this age of GPS the police have some trouble finding locations? Anyway in that case you mentioned, I believe the lady was trapped in her car with a drunken person outside trying to get in... how the police expect her to give very accurate location info?

I ever encountered before that even given name of a building, the police still keep asking and unsure where it is...

In the end luckily there was a security post nearby and these places are well-coordinated with the police (maybe coordinates all stored in some database already), and patrol car could respond quickly and accurately to the location.

Actually the police stationed in a certain area should be thoroughly familiar with the landmarks, roads and other features of the area under their charge. So that when emergency call comes in and caller is only able to give minimal info, they can still locate the place.

To be very familiar with a certain area right down to finger-tips, it is necessary to go out on foot patrols or bicycle patrols more often!

SINGAPORE — A police investigation will be conducted into the death of a Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regular serviceman yesterday (April 17).

Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Jude Sebastian Vincent, 49, was pronounced dead at the hospital after he was found unconscious at Stagmont Camp, said the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) in a statement issued at close to 3am today.

After he was found unconscious, MWO Vincent had been immediately evacuated to the Stagmont Medical Centre and arrived at about 10.35am. An SAF Medical Officer attended to him immediately, said the Ministry.

MWO Vincent was then sent to National University Hospital at 11am, via an SAF ambulance, and arrived 15 minutes later.

“The SAF Medical Officer and medics continued to resuscitate him en route to the hospital. MWO Vincent was pronounced dead at 11.54am at NUH,” said MINDEF.
