Actually come to think of it, if they notice the differences, they could have solve it internally and not publish on newspaper, that makes both parties looks equally bad. What is worst is Singapore to discuss this kind of topic in parliament?? What will overseas people look at us as singapore political system?? [knife] [knife]

If it happen within own parties, will they make it public in newspaper? If no, than there is no reason for them to do that and degrade SG politics. Sigh.

I wouldn't lay the blame to "both" parties.

it is clear that wp havn't been trying to blow this thing up. I don't think they even ask for a press conference.

the first time this news surfaced is on straits times and after that various pro pap source keep blowing up this matter. in defence wp's response is that they didn't ask for extra reimbursement and they are not sure how NEA come to this conclusion.

then this NEA and Vivian refuse to let the dust settled. you can't blame wp for not trying to settle this internally right?

Cleaning of ceiling was assumed to be the extra item the hawkers wanted since it clearly stated that the annual cleaning is in Oct. No one requested the annual cleaning be pushed forward. Unlike annual cleaning where TC will arrange everything other than the tentage, arrangement for the march spring cleaning was different since it was assumed that extra works were provided.

Plus the fact that NEA shouldn't said hawker will arrange for "scaffolding" if they really mean setting up of 'tentage'(which I find it hard to believe) to cover the stall.

Again I believe a communication break down. To the WP, ceiling cleaning was an extra, as they are thinking Spring cleaning. To the hawker, they think it's annual cleaning, coz close for 4 days and not one day. What NEA and WP correspond, they don't know what wordings "Scaffolding" or not was used. All they care, close 4 days, come back from holiday and ceiling not clean, to them is wasted opportunity. Of course the hawkers want the ceiling to be clean, else close 4 days for nothing. I still think there's no menace in either party, and proper communication would have helped. Only problem is one decide to escalate to parliament instead to solve it amicably.

It's ok.

Now with this new info that makes it look like the incumbent has slipped up, plus the fact that the incumbent's supporters are involved, I expect that this matter will be quickly (and conveniently) forgotten and will not be mentioned in the mainstream press anymore.

That's why Internet must be controlled.

People all reading the "wrong" things now.

Without the net.

No one will know the background of the 2 fella or the inserted "annual".

Want to overcome opponent don't work that way lor, people got eyes to see. It's like digging into own grave. -_- -_-

Sometimes things no need to say too much and it maybe more beneficial. In internet era, yes a lot or too much information, but why ruling party treat everyone as if we have no brain to think and ceave out what is right and what is wrong? By saying too much even till extend to parliament for such small issue, it goes to show how narrow minded a person can be. I mean if it happen to their own party, will they do it all the way up to parliament to discuss about it? No right.. when there is differences, surely they will solve it internally. A good character person is, how you treat own self is how you treat others type of analogy.

Wah indeed self pawned...

By the way with all the recent bad press about police murderer, thief from within police, prisons officer who caused the death of an inmate, 2 preschool teachers who tekan and abuse our kids...

can we finally debate about much more serious topics in parliament instead of pointing fingers upwards at some invisible ceiling and doing comical speeches?

Waahh, you worked night shift last night har?

True, do not understand why they resort to such tactics when today's electorate is quite enlightened and knows what is the real agenda at hand.

They should remain focused on doing what they are elected to do so well i.e. serve the people/safeguard the nation, so as to indirectly, put the opposition parties out of their jobs.

precisely !! If you have done a good job for your constituency and for Singapore, don't need to trumpet people also will know. Likewise for WP, if they did a lousy job at Aljunied, the residents will vote back PAP. So bottomline, just be sincere and the rest will follow.

although I'm pro-OPP, it's kinda sad seeing PAP turning into such a wayang party. Am sure the founding members turning in their grave now

side note : how about this ?? The government, its statutory boards, agencies and affiliated companies continue to flout procurement rules despite efforts in recent years to improve, said Singapore's auditor-general's office (AGO).

will any PAP MP (DARE TO) bring this problem up in next sitting ??? or move on yet again?
