Track 2nd Gear July 8, 2013 Share July 8, 2013 Hi Need to ask where can I change the gear box (auto) light bulb - that indicates which gear I am in. Though the Altis dash board has an indicator light, if it is cheap and simple, would want to change the bulb at the gear box as I usually looked at it when changing gear. The technical guy at my workshop has ascertained it is not a fuse issue but said he is not skilful to removing some panels. Thanks in advance for the place and estimated pricing. Cheers ↡ Advertisement
Watwheels Supersonic July 8, 2013 Share July 8, 2013 (edited) How many threads does it take to change a light bulb?? LOL... Put a cloth over a screw driver and try to pry the panels. My car not toyota hence can't really show you. Mine is prying the panel surrounding the gear lever indicator, trace the wire leading to the indicator, twist and pull, presto! Pull out the light bulb from the holder, brought it to the AD spare parts counter and paid a few dollars for it. A lot of it are twist and pull for Japanese cars. I changed my third brake light the same way. Edited July 8, 2013 by Watwheels
Shift_lock 1st Gear July 8, 2013 Share July 8, 2013 My 05 altis also has the same issue. Last time the light for the gear selector on sometimes only. Now totally won't turn on but it doesn't really bother me as mine is using gate shifter and I'm used to it.

Not confident to pry open without damaging it or the hinges. ↡ Advertisement
