Parkwalker Clutched June 26, 2013 Share June 26, 2013 Have you all been exercising amist the lowered haze? Went for hard cycling session last night and felt chest tightness today, also sore throat Checked the safety levels for PM2.5. WHO suggest 25 and lower. Then again singapore has never stay in the safe region in other times as well. Any of you been exercising all this while? Safe for you all? ↡ Advertisement

Although safe range for PM2.5 was <40, I think should be alright bah. PM2.5 particle will stay in the lung forever and will not be able to flush out...It will lead to lung cancer and stroke later...The damage is not now......if you look at NEA website...the value of it is also double the health range....don't take the risk. http://epa.gov/pm/health.html Health Effects Particle pollution - especially fine particles - contains microscopic solids or liquid droplets that are so small that they can get deep into the lungs and cause serious health problems. Numerous scientific studies have linked particle pollution exposure to a variety of problems, including: •premature death in people with heart or lung disease, •nonfatal heart attacks, •irregular heartbeat, •aggravated asthma, •decreased lung function, and •increased respiratory symptoms, such as irritation of the airways, coughing or difficulty breathing Edited June 26, 2013 by LoverofCar

Sky61 1st Gear June 26, 2013 Share June 26, 2013 let me ask u this question, before the haze situation, do u do ur normal outdoor exercises?? Did u then, check the PM2,5 before heading out?? i can safely say almost all don't....its only after the haze situation then suddenly everyone is so anal about PM2.5. During those times before the haze came, do u reckon PM2.5 was below 40?? i don't tink so...... ↡ Advertisement
