what i found strange is when the lady chose to blame the car behind rather than the front..for all we know the culprit might be the one in front

Got someone film it from star to finish means it's fake lah.

Unless that car did not pull up handbrake and it rolled towards her car. Otherwise with the handbrake pulled it's not easily pushed away. It will mostly cause a big dent on the rear bumper.

I think so too.

Doesn't make sense that a pillow can avoid causing dent, no matter how slow she reversed her car.

You have a force, reaction force, and the bumper surface strength (or strength of its attachments). If she slowly, gently reverses her car, it does not matter whether she puts a pillow there or not. The impulsive force will be minimized already anyway.

All boils down to whether the bumper strength can withstand the force applied to it (which depends much on whether the rear car had its handbrake properly applied). With the handbrake properly applied, the reversing car will have to apply a huge force to get the rear car moving... and that force could be enough to cause a dent, regardless whether there is a pillow or not.

Ppl will be damn angry if this happens. Ask yourself whether you will whack that car with a pillow.

Normal ppl would aim for one of the doors and give a good kick to make sure it's dented.

Actually with handbrake up the car can still be pushed very easily without damaging the bumper. But I agree no need pillow. Done it once at little india before. Was parked at the last lot so parked alittle further back. The next guy that came and parked infront of me parked so close and I don't have space behind to reverse already. So just slowly drive into his bumper and pushed the car forward lo.

(edited)

Now most of the cars are auto. Will putting in "Park" position render the car not moveable at all or cause damage to gears/locking mechanism when forced to move?

This is the reason I avoid parallel parking. You may park swee swee in box with equal clearance back and front, but some other parkers anyhow park, that's it. [bigcry]

Hypersonic

If I was the car behind and she wanted to push me,

I would be very grateful that she used her pillows

to push my bumper.

People should be more thoughtful like her.
