Another stressful incident on the MRT!

This old man is really too much. People have already given up their seat to him, and he still wants to act self-righteous and entitled. Also, the way the old idiot is jumping around actively like a monkey, he clearly doesn't *need* the priority seat.

old man took for granted that priority seats means he have the rights to seat...what if...a young man suddenly felt not well, and also need a seat???

Personally, the "old" man picked on the wrong guy to lecture....he thinks to shame the young man....but backfired....he started the whole incident.

However, the other guy should have just left the heated argument as it was when he reached his station, instead of bestowing 2 spits at the old man. He deserved 2 tight slaps for spreading germs and lack of manners.

One who is old but lacks wisdom whilst the younger man lacks graciousness.

Just my thoughts....appreciate your rides, guys and be calm with any pea brained road users. Take an umbrella out if need to step out of car, not as weapon but in case got free spits. Kidding...

Safe ride

Cheers

The old man deserves a beating anyway for trying to find trouble FIRST.

The younger man is provoked into action although I cant say that he is totally correct.

80% blame is on old fart

20% young man.

Old people in Singapore need to understand that they are not saints and hence stop believing they are omnipotent and that the young people owe them a living. Obviously this old fart has been trying his luck with young male Singaporeans who see him old and did not argue back

This time he picked a wrong target.

Agree, in Taiwan, nobody will sit on priority seats.

But in HK and China, they all same as SG. All will sit on priority seat. China worst, they even spit on the floor of the mrt. So better dont sit on the floor!!! They would also carry large luggage and block the exits while seating on the priority seat. [shakehead]

SG not that bad yet lah.

from our recent 5-day trip to HK, the MTR experience was better than expected. while we're carrying our 2-yr-old boy, we were always offered seats without fail on every ride, even if it's during peak hour period. but we did notice that the kind folks who offered their seats are usually older folks above 30s and some even in their 50s. and they are not necessarily sitting on the priority seats when they offered us the seat.

All these craps started when some smart guy introduced the priority seats to the train....as long as other care to give away seats to those in need is good enuff....why must set a special priority seat.

IMO, The old man was at fault for berating at the young man even when he was given a seat on the train. That was until the young man started spitting on the old man...

(edited)

I don't think it was because he wanted the priority seat only.

He was angry that the guy in the priority seat never got up and offered him the seat.

Saying 'kudos to the guy who splits on the old man' is disgraceful on your part.

news repork say he wanted the priority seat so he kpkb at the lau ahbeng + old man spit first. Some old ppl really ought to be put in their place.

Well that was awkward.... Spitting game seriously too i mean this is really a nightmare.... Old people want respect and sometimes young people don't respect easily... All in all respect is a give and take situation....

Turbocharged

Agree on this too.

I was at hospital food court queuing to buy my dinner. There are already five of us in the queue and this auntie act blur and went in front of me. She told the vendor her order, the vendor told her to go behind the queue. [laugh]

Exactly loh, so old liao still need younger people to tell the old fellow off. Many of these KS traits are inherited from these older generation [laugh].

It's not wrong to respect an elder but must show that he or she is respectable in the first place.
