How to remove carbon sticker on car body?

WD40...lighter fluid.

 

After the car will be oily...just wash with plenty of soap and water.

 

And if you are using lighter fluid...remember dun smoke.

Will the car paint have any damage if the carbon fibre sticker or wrap were to be removed few years later?

 

I've ever considered getting car wrap but worried will it damage the paintworks later if need to be remove..... Anyone have experience on this?

First try to pick at a corner to create a flap to pull at.

 

Use a heat gun to warm up the glue, always moving the gun and never stay in one spot.

 

Once warm enough, quickly peel back the sticker trying to pay it as flat as possible. If it cools, run the heat gun again to warm it up. Repeat until finished

 

Remove glue residue with a citrus based cleaner (you can find at Cold Storage, Giant, etc) or some diluted white spirits. Any light scratching you can touch up with a light hand polish.

 

WD40 may work also, but will make it slippery/oily to hold and peel and can get a bit messy if drips in between crevices.

Heat gun together with this professional scraper and plastic blade is the best combination for removing stubborn stickers.

Sorry hijack thread: Is there such a thing as a steering wheel sticker? To cover parts of paint loss due to friction.

 

I tried to send for repaint but very inconvenient as the whole steering wheel had to be dismantled.
