The Asus transformer book is really cool. but must feel the weight. Autobots, transform and roll-in.

About 950g for the tablet (Includes a 3,120mAh Battery) and 950g for the keyboard (Includes a 5,000mAh Battery), that about 1.9kg with is a total of 8,120mAh of battery life, more than my current 13 inch MBP with only 5,600+ mAh [laugh] It also comes with the Intel HD4000 graphics (Identical to the 13 inch MBP) which is great for day to day activities like surfing the net/doing doc. and a bit of gaming although when it comes to Graphic Intensive games, it really cannot compare with a laptop with dedicated graphics. 128GB of SSD storage on the tablet itself and either 320GB or 500GB of HDD storage on the keyboard

Mac is out. Learning curve.

Apparently, it's not bad.

I gave my parents, who are almost 70 years old, my old Macbook Pro without any instruction, and within a few days were SMS'ing me, Skyping (install themselves!), surfing, taking screen shots, even photo editing on it.

On their windows computer, they only managed to email and surf. This is what they said "Wah, this computer so much easier to use than the other one (Windows 7)".

Windows is like andriod, unrestricted but resulting in being more complicated, while Mac/Ios is abit restrictive (Ie. Cannot dw8 .exe files) it is safer (No virus) and more user friendly

Yup.

I initially gave it to them so that each one can have their own, now end up both of them only want to use the Mac. Sigh.

Get the Asus Zenbook UX32VD. In terms of weight and shape, it is the closest to Macbook Air.

Hardware-wise, not many Ultrabooks come close.

Dedicated graphics card, i7 processor, IPS HD anti-glare screen, backlit keyboard, nice touchpad (closest to macbook) etc.

If you really want to make this a powerhouse, upgrade to SSD and upgrade ram to 10GB.

In short, it is a great ultrabook for work and play.

I am a Mac user, this is my first Win Machine purchase after 10 years. I hate Win but bought it more for the hardware rather than OS.

It will be nice if I can have dual boot on the Zenbook. :D

Turbocharged

ASUS Transformer 3 Pro price seems quite competitive. It's a Surface Pro style device... with all the specs basically +0.1 lmao.

Recently got a new Lenovo IDEAPAD 320S i7-8550 for my kid. 13.3 inch screen, very light (about 1.2kg), and packs a punch. It comes with an 8th Generation i7 processor.  Price was under $1,300.  There was some promotion going on.

Then, I decided to compare the speed of my kid's notebook against my slightly older Asus.  To do this, I used the Geekbench test.  The results?  Wow, the 8th Gen i7 is significantly faster than the 7th Gen!  See this video.
