Newdrive 1st Gear May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 went to service my car last sat and was told that i need to replace my drive shaft... Before this servicing i noticed whenever i do turning (i find the bends quite sharp for me) at first lane (after MBS towards AYE) i will heard a loud sound coming from undercarriage. the technician told me could be due to this drive shaft... But after changing the drive shaft, both sides. I still encounter this issue. Any idea what other possible causes? ↡ Advertisement
Jamesc Hypersonic May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 When servicing the under carriage drive shaft always make sure there is enough lubrication. If there is not enough grease the friction is very bad for the drive shaft and this leads to premature failure.

Ivanpaseo 2nd Gear May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 (edited) I dont think not all car models come as a complete set. From your initial pics looks like your cv boot is torn and likely cv joint is gone which causes sound when you turn. You sure your workshop change the whole drive shaft with new cv joint? To double confirm you might want to look at the cv joint boot and shaft is actually new. Edited May 20, 2013 by Ivanpaseo
