A loud sound coming from under carriage during sharp turning

went to service my car last sat and was told that i need to replace my drive shaft...

 

 

Before this servicing i noticed whenever i do turning (i find the bends quite sharp for me) at first lane (after MBS towards AYE) i will heard a loud sound coming from undercarriage. the technician told me could be due to this drive shaft...

 

But after changing the drive shaft, both sides.

 

I still encounter this issue.

 

Any idea what other possible causes?

When servicing the under carriage drive shaft

 

always make sure there is enough lubrication.

 

If there is not enough grease the friction is very bad

 

for the drive shaft and this leads to premature failure.

Steering rack could be also the issue. I faced it last time.

if turning got sound usually is CV joint shot.....

sorry me not a mechanical person... but i did some google... i change the whole drive shaft, CV joint is part of it right?if so then weird... cos i still experiencing that sound when i do turning (only during sharp turns)...

hmm steering rack usually last how long? my car is 7 year old... 114k miles already.

I dont think not all car models come as a complete set. From your initial pics looks like your cv boot is torn and likely cv joint is gone which causes sound when you turn. You sure your workshop change the whole drive shaft with new cv joint? To double confirm you might want to look at the cv joint boot and shaft is actually new.

I dont think not all car models come as a complete set. From your initial pics looks like your cv boot is torn and likely cv joint is gone which causes sound when you turn. You sure your workshop change the whole drive shaft with new cv joint? To double confirm you might want to look at the cv joint boot and shaft is actually new.

 

 

I changed it at Elite Drive Shaft. is a whole piece (left + right). the picture u see is before I change.

If drive shaft and Cv joint is changed. You might want to check your control arm bushes and sway bar links.

ok. most probably i send my car to the workshop to check again this sat (me driving OPC and not driving often). think better to let them diagnose the root cause of the sound...
