Liverpool's interest in him was never firm. Only a quote from Ayre saying we are interested. Didn't see the original quote so could be mis translated too.

Hyypia will further develop him before we sign him later. :D

that's the crux of the problem isnt it?

once he fully develop.

1. his price doubles or triples. pricing him out of pool's range

2. he attracts the attention of the big clubs. pool becomes 2nd/3rd choice.

i would rather they buy them young and develop them in the "liverpool way" of football

at least still have sell on value and more likely to fit in the team style

What you say is correct. However, what I said earlier about Hyypia developing is more of a joke. Liverpool's interest in him is not firm. Not a top choice in any case.

one of my fav players.... super evergreen [:)]

Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti has penned a new one-year contract extension with the Serie A club.

Zanetti, who turns 40 in August, has been at the San Siro since arriving from Argentine side Banfield in 1995.

The former Argentina international is currently out injured after snapping his Achilles tendon in April and is not expected to be fit until October at the earliest.

However, despite the setback, he is delighted to have committed himself to Inter until 2014 and cannot wait to return to action next season.

"First of all I'd like to thank the club for the faith they've shown in me," Zanetti told the club's official website.

"We spoke at length about my injury and we decided to do another year. They've again shown they believe in me and my passion for Inter. I hope I can pay back their affection on the pitch.

"I'd like to thank the many fans who have sent their love over the last few weeks, and they've done likewise with the team in the first few days of the season ticket campaign, showing they'll be with us next season.

"I'm doing everything I can to come back fit and healthy, and to be ready for the coach and my team-mates."

even his face and hair din change much in the past 18 years at Inter :D

not a transfer, but rather the player was sacked from the club

likely to be the end of his football career

An Argentine soccer player was expelled from a minor league game and fired from his team for mistreating a dog that wandered onto the field.

Fox Sports de Argentina broadcast images on Tuesday showing the player use both hands to grab the mid-size black-and-white dog by the collar and throw it toward the bleachers during the game.

The dog struck a chain-link fence and fell down, but quickly got up and ran away.

The referee flashed a red penalty card at the player, Jose Gimenez, signaling his expulsion from the game between his Bella Vista team and the San Juan team in Tucuman province, which is about 800 miles north of Buenos Aires.

Gimenez told the newspaper Gazeta de Tucuman that he later felt ashamed by what he did and said he had been fired from the team.

The player said he had a hard time trying to explain to his 3-year-old son 'why I had choked a doggie on TV.'

He said he decided to deal with the dog because no one else was trying to get it off the field, 'but it wasn't my intention for this to occur.'

Still, Gimenez complained about the attention caused by the case. 'So many things occur in soccer that do not have such repercussions,' he said.

Liverpool still can't agree price for Papadopoulos.

Chief scout was at Armenia vs Denmark to watch Mkhitaryan.

Papa met a fan and told her he is 100% staying.

if cant agree price, i guess it is better that pool focus their efforts on securing other players. if not, waste time on one deal, in the end doesnt happen.
