Many people, including myself, are waiting to enter in June/July to get a better deal.

Not sure if there will be a good deal since used car price are pegged to new car price.

The implementation details for the framework to exempt the physically disabled or their caregivers from the car loan restrictions were made available on 15 April 2013. As at 7 May 2013, MAS has received one application from a borrower under this framework. MAS has also received queries on the framework, and expects to receive more applications in due course

I think the more important part is the one in bold!

WTF! Just cos you're disabled you are allowed to buy a car with 0% downpayment?

It makes no sense cos the caregiver would probably be ridden with hefty hospital bills and yet still want to add to that burden by getting a car???

Not really, i got one ex-colleague many years back who bought a car back on the disable scheme.

he got it real cheap i think for the Kia rio at about 20k plus when the market rate was about 40-50k .

He lost his right leg in a motorcycle accident and the car was customise with the accelerator on the left.

Dunno about the installment scheme though.

Disable scheme no Coe. Not too sure about arf. unlimited lifespan but there is a cap on OMV of 20k I think. The rest of the details I'm not too sure. This was what was told to me 10 years back by a disabled guy.

They are just trying to sound more diplomatic coz someone brought up the question that what happens if a family with disabled person really needs a car.

G_G lor. sooner or later, 2nd hand car shops will all close

No lah. If all close, us current drivers can forget about trading in cars no?

Only the larger players with money in their backing will be able to survive.
