Fuelsaver Supercharged June 1, 2013 Share June 1, 2013 Estima drives like crap.. rocks like a boat. Not trying to bash Toyota la Seemed like suspension is for comfort, find fortuner rides in this same manner, very unsafe. Then steering while light also too much feedback til u have to hold more firmly. I have not went back to Toyota showroom since. ↡ Advertisement

Atrecord Supersonic June 3, 2013 Share June 3, 2013 In do find the van-like gear shift location very good - it frees up space in the centre console, and is easily reachable as its nearer to the steering wheel....the old Previa has such a gear shift too! Are you familiar with the Wish, or where the gear shift is located in the Wish? I think that it is quite convenient too, and looks far better than the van-like location leh... Atrecord Supersonic June 3, 2013 Share June 3, 2013 I feel freed is a nice car to sit in. I have sat in a freed taxi before, the car seems to be very stable and comfort as compared to other make. But judging from the short length of the car, is the legroom sufficient when all 3 rows of seats need to be occupied? I actually have not tried the Freed before, but just thinking that if it is barely acceptable for the wish/stream, then I'm wondering whether the Freed will be even more cramped. Atrecord Supersonic June 3, 2013 Share June 3, 2013 Yup... Had initially decided on the Touran and was monitoring prices to decide on when to commit as we (my spouse and I) think the price will be coming off some and we have a few years to go until current ride expires. Complaint would have been the 3rd rows leg but we accepted that it's the tradeoff for a 7 seater-able ride with a relatively saloon size footprint ( we both have a phobia of driving big cars) Then the Chevrolet Orlando came along .... What are you driving now? I'm in quite similar situation, in that i'm also keeping an eye on suitable MPV and hoping that prices will come down within the next 2.5 yr before i definitely need to get a new one... My concern is that my kids would be growing up and might find it squeezy as they are probably going to be quite tall too... so not sure whether will need to bite bullet and get a bigger one. How is the Orlando? I haven't been following closely but felt that from the photo, the car looks boxy, reminding me of another Mit model (whose name i forgot) about 10-15 yr ago... Atrecord Supersonic June 3, 2013 Share June 3, 2013 Nowadays Euro MPV quite cheap leh. Not bad. Yes, they are much more affordable - and so common - than in the past. But I'm concerned about switching to conti, as it means signalling will need to be by left hand, something that we might find difficult to get used to... I thought you are going to say about the maintenance.

Damien22 1st Gear June 3, 2013 Share June 3, 2013 I thought of getting a second hand MPV in two years' time as a weekend car when family of 6 or 7 go out together for outing. Thinking of getting a Honda Odyssey left with about 2 or 3 years and extend COE and drive on. Like the drive feel of Odyssey, but unsure of the FC though. But again, when it comes to MPV, how good FC can we get?
Hosaybo 6th Gear June 3, 2013 Share June 3, 2013 How much can you drive in the weekend such that fuel consumption becomes a problem?
Damien22 1st Gear June 3, 2013 Share June 3, 2013 How much can you drive in the weekend such that fuel consumption becomes a problem? That is true. However, also thinking of letting my wife drive my current car and I take the MPV in future. But does not make sense as I have to drive a lot around everyday while she would likely drive to work, park and drive back home.
