Beachboy7718 Clutched May 9, 2013 Share May 9, 2013 Bro and Sis, please help to recommend good workshop for reparing Power window of Toyota Estima? The holder that hold the glass have been broken. I have long story with Sparkcarcare with this window repair. It will be 3rd time I send in to assemble for the window since I cancel the repair. The current service agent try to offer me to change the whole glass window with the holders (I need to purchase my v-kool again. Where by the previous agent mention only change the holder). I verified with Borne Toyota and MBM that I can only change the holder. MBM informs me that there is no stock for the holders but need to wait 2 weeks for purchase. The worst is that Sparkcarcare simply assemble back the window with 3-4 mm open gap between glass and rubber seal that allow rains to go in. I send in 2nd time in a day to re-allign the window. Today I learn that they broke few clips of side panel and power door cover is loosing that I will send in at 3rd time. They also broke my window visor and agreed to replace tomorrow. I am speechless!!! I never have such problem with them since using the ctr for almost 6 yr for regular oil change since previous accord. I use them since it is the authorised shop for PI estima. The warranty just expired at Mar 13. So bro and sis, is there a better workshop for repairing Estima? MBM is okay? I think that Sparkcarcare may not good in repairing but only servicing oil. I feel scary with Sparkcarcare and wonder if they can continue to perform the repair. There is no required to change the window glass and just the holder right? ↡ Advertisement

Meanmachine Supercharged May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 years ago, I sell power window accessories & car alarm system from ITALY. Basically, you may juz go to any car accessories shop ( establised one ) to rectify problem, if its what you described as the holder or hinges, then its best to go scrap yard to find suitable replacement unless U want brand new, if its the motor that's faulty, ( either a german or french brand ) ard 120-140 dollars by now. Car accessories technician can rectify, no need to go to toyo w/s, save U headache.
5936 1st Gear May 10, 2013 Share May 10, 2013 Sorry to hear abt your bad experience. I do not know which side was broken, most likely driver side(highest use), pse add LH or RH , front or rear door to the end of these parts name.Parts manual showed 3 main assembliesGlass sub-assyRegulator sub-assy ( this assy holds glass and motor. Its mechanism move glass up or down, by the motor). you'll need this assy.Motor assy, power window regulator. Check with a stockist, they are the best party to verify with they carry stocks. Dun worry so much abt the side board clips, they are cheap and easily available from autob-cs, etc.

Dun worry so much abt the side board clips, they are cheap and easily available from autob-cs, etc. It is the 2nd row right side power window. The current market stock is the window glass has in-build 2 piece of plastic holder at the bottom of glass. These holder already glued together with the bottom of glass. This holder of mine broken. I do not want to change the whole glass if I can get only the holder. The glass offered is clear glass also. If I agree to change it cost me SGD412+100 for a clear galss and more for v-kool replacement later. But mine is tinted glass. I can forsee the consequnces on the problem of v-kool with different tone due to one tinted and clear glass. Previous service agent quoted me SGD100+100 for just change the holder. But the agent left the company. MBM and borne toyota saying can only change the holder. Has anyone experienced with the same problem? I am thinking about to swith workshop to do this repair once there is stock of holder. Yesterday they put back nicely with all broken side panels and flips with the best "head technician". I am pleased with the job. They may fade and minor stratch the paint while using "Fire Water" to clear the previous glue of window visor. I will later use turtle wax and hope to clear it. If it can not solve, it will be another issue with them. I have argued service agent why instuct the technician using "fire water" when I saw technician using clay bar the clean the old window visor glue. Anyhow don't they assign an experienced technician at the 1st place and I do not need to waste my time with 2 returned visits. Which visit takes half day. Beachboy7718 Clutched May 15, 2013 Author Share May 15, 2013 Agent will only carry the export Estima model they represent. So you may have knocked at wrong door.Have you tried asking GS auto at Owen Rd?Will you be able to post photo of the damaged power window ? It is the athourised workshop under PI that is why I am using them. I am glad that they are responsible to all the mistakes and broken parts. Perhaps I may find dispute with workshop who does not want to take responsibility some where else. Please find the loaded picture from hand drawing. The plastic holder is attached/glued with the window glass and availble in stock market for clear glass only. The holder (Any right term call?) are not available in market. I only hope to change the holders instead of whole glass and solar film and some more my window glass is originated with tinted glass. SparkCarCare's suppliers are only available with the whole claer glass option. They will inform me when the part available in market. I need to check some where else. Mind to share with you have source of supplier for this part. I may like to try Bornea since they informed me that I can change only this part and I wonder if Previa suing the same machanism like estima on this part.
