cannot read....

a simple translate on the main point....

He pointed out when he as a child in Singapore, he can have very delicious prawn noodles and pork organ soup, but now the food is not delicious, it is very sad thing is to see Singapore cuisine is disappearing, like an endangered species.

It is hard to find good local food, the hawker now mostly not doing a good job, because Singaporeans just too comfortable and lack of initiative.

He was disappointed with the young, everyone waiting for parents to leave the future to them, why should I made so much, and why work so hard?

Our generation is different, we work hard for better life for parents and ourselves, pay more attention and more effort on making the food better, so different now. "

i somehow agree with this tiko face

it's a tradition vs progress thing....

last time, street hawkers were replaced by hawker centres, next time maybe hawker centres will be phased out and replaced by other systems?

likewise, the likes of char kway teow or hokkien mee may become extinct? unless they commercialise and market it, like bak kut teh, but the consumers will have to pay premium prices

Lol. no one ever asked the hawkers what they think.

I bet u most of them took this up, not easy type of hot sweaty job, so that their children can have a nice comfy job in office [;)]

Of course close door when old is kinda sad. but do they want this type of life for their child? [rolleyes]
