I think van should slow down since he signal and wanted to change back to the previous lane.

van after signal and start to change lane too fast. TS already beside him going straight did nothing wrong at all. We cannot expect him to speed up just because the front is empty. Some more TS speed is already pretty fast. He slow down after the near accident not to confront the van but to make sure everyone and the car or van is ok. At lease he slow down rather then speed up and

bo-chup.

thank goodness only u seems to understand what i am trying to say here.

keywords u stated:

- first van change lane then change back fast never slow down.

- can't expect me to react so fast when i am already picking up speed after filtering to 2nd lane and close to passing the van.

thank you for that.

anyway like some here advise and my friend advise, i will try not to stay in van or big vehicles blind spot too long if possible.

Lastly, after signal, double check before filter in. Not signal and start filter in.

Must signal, let the other car got time to notice you or know your intension of changing lane.

Before start switching lane.

I meet many people who signal without giving you time to react and chuck in very fast.

I am not angry at those people, but hoping no one gets into accident.

just drive with care guys.

ditto, i am sure a few here who commented on me also does this in bold.

shame on them. i wasn't taught this way when i got my license (so dun question me how i got my license, i got my license thru the same way as u, TP gave me).

at least i signal check and filter not signal and filter immediately like the van.

No point ponder about this incident, move on... Even if the van did cut u giving u no reaction time, slowing down to such speed is high risk to the vehicle behind or beside u. U will never know who will be changing lane to ur lane n meet u in such a slow speed. At ur speed in highway, confirm nobody will have enough reaction time to brake. Stay safe even in the most undesired condition

Yup bro :)

Sometimes the situation on video cannot tell much.

On the road evaluate and video evaluate situation can be different.

Video can only tell frontal.

But cannot tell the back and the 2 side mirror and any car around you.

Best evaluation is still the driver at that moment.

most of the time when many people look at video, they will look hard at the video to spot mistake.

who is right who is wrong.

but miss out some small detail which is not captured by the video.

well, hope everyone learn from here and drive safe.

TS, have a good week ahead and try not to take in those not so good feedback.

Erase it away and dont think about it anymore.

You got more wonderful things to do in life.

Lastly, have a good hug on your car.

Its still in good condition and also bringing you around without any problem :0

Cheers

Enjoy a good meal and be a happy man :)

TS constantly say, check on gf, check on gf...... checking what huh? No contact between van and car. The most get a shock only mah. Signal left, slowly filter left, and pull over the side, stop and check all you like, have a quickie if you want. Coming to almost a standstill on a fast flowing road like Lornie Road, especially coming off the viaduct, is not just stupid but irresponsible.

You posted this up thinking you're in the right and the van is in the wrong. Its ok to think you're right, who doesn't. But at least as a P plate driver as you admitted, you should be graceful enough to acknowledge there was a lot that you could have done better, than to constantly defend, defend and defend.

I don't think that the rest should start ragging on you for stopping in a bus bay, crossing double white lines, or having poor lane discipline though. Its not directly related to the incident between you and the van, unless they somehow want to highlight that poor driving is the common denominator.

I think check on gf is just an excuse la. Usually when someone do this is because he got offended by the other driver and purposely cut infront and ebrake to take revenge. lol.
