Breaking news: Gunmen at MIT, police officers dead!

Reminiscent of the Virginia Tech massacre, except this time, it's at freakin' MIT.

 

MIT gunmen on the run, may have explosives

 

LATEST: A major manhunt is underway in Watertown, near Boston, after a police officer was shot at MIT university.

 

Police have apprehended one suspect, while another is cornered in a suburban area after they reportedly stole a police vehicle, and were in possession of 'hand grenades and automatic weapons'.

 

Police have been warned to power down cellphones after reports of suspicious packages in the area.

 

Earlier, MIT officials warned students to stay inside after a shots were fired on campus. One MIT police officer was shot and later died of his injuries in hospital.

 

It is understood that Homeland Security is involved in the situation.

 

It is not clear if these events are linked to the Boston Bombings earlier this week.
