Taking starcruise to Melaka.

Don't feel like joining their local package in Melaka. Want to go to the town area for makan and walk walk ourselves.

How far is the ferry terminal to the town area and how much is the taxi fare ?

Anyone tried before ?

yup, no need to join their package.

 

the cruise provide small boats which will take you to the shore, once reach there, taxis and trishaw will be touting for your business.

the taxi/trishaw will be your local tour guide for the day, they charge by hour and will take you to any places of interest you want, RM40 per hour for taxi.

There will be penty of touts waiting for you. Thats for sure.

 

Just pay and enjoy yourself lar............dun bother about over-paying RM50 or even RM100 to them.

 

You only have limited time on-shore.

 

Orelse just stay onboard the ship and sleep.

Take starcruise to Melaka? I think drive there better.

I had been on the Royal Caribbean Cruise sometime last yr, and had a stop-over at Melaka as well.

The cruise ship had to berth out at sea, and tenders/ferries will bring passengers to the jetty.

 

Directions

After disembark from the ferry, stand facing those shophouses with your back facing the jetty waterfront.

Walk along the road on your Left, about 5-10 mins, you will reach a major road.

You will now face a historic warship display across the major road.

The Taming Sari Revolving Tower, Pahlawan Mall, Mahkota Parade shopping mall are in the RIGHT HAND direction. Simply follow the traffic direction of this major road.

If you take the LEFT HAND direction [against major road traffic direction], you will come to the Maritime Museum [a big wooden ship], next you will come to a traffic round-about. The red-color Christ Church is slightly on the right. If you take the left lane, crossing the bridge over river, you will reach Jonker Street locality.

It used to dock at the harbour from 7AM and leave around evening time. Is enough for a short trip. Tourist attraction is not much.
