SINGAPORE: Mr Jonathan Kang clocked a new personal best when he finished the Boston Marathon on Monday (Tuesday morning, Singapore time), but the Singapore runner will have no happy memories of the day.

 

Mr Kang, 37, finished the race in 3hrs 4.21min, just over an hour before two bombs went off the near the finish line at around 2.50pm (2.50am Tuesday, Singapore time).

 

In a telephone interview, he told TODAY that after crossing the finish line and locating his wife Vivi, who was waiting there for him, the couple thought about milling about the area to soak in the festive atmosphere.
