Anyone heard of the "no colored" rules in public establishment likes pubs and resturants. There are protocol governing the use of military uniform in public and its symbolism worldwide.

 

You will never see a GI Joe in a disco or pubs; neither will you see a colored person dining in a posh restaurant. Bouncers in general will turn away patrons in military garb. Only in Singapore where dress code rules and decorum is least observed in most places which leaves our uniform with little to no substance in value.

 

The fella topping up petrol in JB may think lightly of his actions; as to most Singaporean the uniform is just a piece of cloth . However, the symbolism of military attire speaks volume in a foreign land and the diplomatic implications entrails.
