Metalsubzero Clutched April 5, 2013 Author Share April 5, 2013 Thanks for the recommendations people.. I think I might go to Autoimage tomorrow.. I'm looking for a cheap and reasonable sounding active sub for underseat, does anyone have any recommendations? Might do away with my current sub as the connectors on my enclosure are faulty.. Whatever u end up doing, I would like to just point out that stereo sound is 2 channel sound,ie left and right. Unless u intend to watch movies in the car with 5.1 and all that, I suggest u just do up the front speakers and a sub. Cheaper and u will listen to music as the producers intended. More or less. When i bought new speakers there, they didn't charge me a single cent for the wires. Some installers will charge S$XX per foot run...and its on top of the labour charges. Tohdj Neutral Newbie April 5, 2013 Share April 5, 2013 (edited) Hey bro, thanks for the advice.. I'm only moving my front coaxials to the rear so no problem.. Not gonna be poisoned further.. Haha.. your pioneer 3350 double din headunit may not have time alignment. so if you install the rear speakers without time alignment, you may experience muffled sound. perhaps you should just install the front component speakers and since it only uses 2 channels, you can use the other 2 channels to drive your subwoofer. And you can avoid install the 2nd amplifier. Edited April 5, 2013 by Tohdj

I totally agreed with Genes that you should just fix up your front speakers and HU plus your sub without the rear speakers. Having more amps and speakers in a car is not always a good thing. As for the bad connection on the sub u mentioned, Ted should be able to fit it for you, probably FOC.
Hachi28 1st Gear April 6, 2013 Share April 6, 2013 I have been to recommended audio shop to do up mid level ICE on my mercedes.... and later I noticed they cut up my interior carpet lining like cutting a soft toy to death. They may be popular for audio tuning, but not workmanship. Anyway, there is no best of both world. And also, my 2 cents worth of advise.... pls dun spend too much on car audio, it is wiser to spent it on home hifi.
Metalsubzero Clutched April 10, 2013 Author Share April 10, 2013 Hi bros, so I got my headunit and component speakers installed. The maximos sound good but I've been experiencing distortion on my tweeters.. This only happens with youtube videos which I downloaded and converted to avi format.. And only for a few tracks.. I tried playing an original disc and did not hear any such noises.. Can I confirm the hissing sound is inherent from the source, ie the youtube videos and not becuz my tweeters are spoilt? Kindda pisses me off to hear the hissing sound so clearly especially on low volumes.. Anyone has these problems with youtube videos?
Hachi28 1st Gear April 11, 2013 Share April 11, 2013 The maximos sound good but I've been experiencing distortion on my tweeters.. This only happens with youtube videos which I downloaded and converted to avi format.. Throw in an audiophile CD and drive your car back to your installer to tune it. You should not hear any distortion after it is tuned. Any distortion after this will be due to the actual quality of your music source. ↡ Advertisement
