Curious how long have you had your diesel XF?

I read about diesel cars are not particularly good for people who drives in short city start-stop traffic most of the time. There is a need to go on a regular longer cruise to clear the particulate filter.

I heard if you cruise 10-15 mins on a highway each trip, that is good enough. But if the trip is 15 mins drive and more than half of it is short city start stop drive, then it is not so good.

About 2 years plus and I never had a chance to open up my bonnet. As a busy executive the last thing you want is to keep opening up bonnets and checking the water or oil levels etc. I go servicing once every year and the service is top notched in Wearnes in fact. With diesel at about S$1.30+ per litre after my various discount, it really saves a lot.

Are they selling the management cars at attractive prices or somewhat similar to what is sold in the resale market?

I have got a feeling the XF will be phase out soon since they not bringing in any new stocks.

Been informed that XF will remain current at least into 2016

wow, that's quite long...a full 8 years since launch.... [thumbsup]

Was at wearnes for the jag owners appreciation nite yesterday and tested the new 2.0 XJ full aluminum body car. It has 240horse and 350torque, 0-100 is 7.5sec.

Very nice luxuriously made, but the pick up from stationary didn't feel as great as my current XF.

I honestly feel that for such a big car, 2.0L with 240bhp and 350nm torque is insufficient. I tested the diesel XF of 197bhp with 450nm torque 2 months ago. Really solid pick up from stationary.

The aluminum frame made a huge difference in the new XJ 2.0, it's good but I just love my diesel xf

With the aluminum body, the XJ is actually lighter than the current XF.

The XJ 2.0L you tested is the diesel or petrol variant.

XJ2.0 is only petrol. Also i find it too costly for a 2.0 to cost more than 300k.

But XJ is the 7 series and S class equivalent right? So 300k is somewhat normal. But maybe they should fix the V6 engine on the XJ to do more justice to this model.

Hey guys, i was wondering how does Jaguar make money selling a car right at its cost price? The cost price of the Jaguar XF diesel 2.2 is about 190k and the petrol 2 litre is near 200k there about. Their sales prices is at 190k. Am i missing something here?

one more thing. I don't do alot of highway driving, live near town. So mostly drive to office in CBD, So the only highway driving i do is mainly weekend when going out with the family.

Is the diesel recommended for me? Or should i just stick to petrol?
