Abachee 2nd Gear March 31, 2013 Share March 31, 2013 Living in a shoebox country with a pack car pack and with all the construction going on for new HDB and private property. It's matter of time you will get all this. It's very normal and daily affair. Dun think you can avoid all this unless you wrap your call with transparent Scott tape all over the car or unless you are rich enuf to have your personal carpark at your own back yard. No point wasting $$ on those so call product as tendency your car will get dent or scratch again. I rather save the $ and make it one time to go spray workshop once I have accumulated more scratches & dent on the car.

Any suggestions where and how its done? I've got a clear film on the front bumper and bonnet. Good protection. Marked difference compared to my previous ride. U can probably get it done at decal shops. I think my film is from Oracle (the film brand, not the shop that did the application) However, the windscreen (which was as smooth as silk when I 1st collected this 4yr old car) is now pockmarked, due to my high mileage in Msia. There's also a film which can be put on the windscreen but it screws up the effectiveness of the wipers, which I am not willing to sacrifice.

Relatively inexpensive as compared to other films in the market.

I have installed ClearPlex on my windscreen, it does not affect the wipers in anyway. Not sure how effective it is against windscreen damage by small stone but I got a scratch on it few months after installing. Probably a sand fell on the wiper and when activated it caused the scratch.

Vinyl 5th Gear January 30, 2014 Share January 30, 2014 This is how stone chip protection works. There are a few brands in the market, 3M, Xpel and ORAGUARD. 3M and Xpel are more often used for exotic cars due to the price tag.
