Locknload 5th Gear May 21, 2014 Share May 21, 2014 Apart from these servicing offers, another one to look out for are the Aircon servicing ones as prices quoted are just to vacuum the unit and wash the filter, which you can do on your own. What they're interested in are they charges for chemical cleaning and pumping gas. Charges for car servicing or aircon maint are pretty standard all over and you get peace of mind. MaggieTayBeeLeng Clutched August 1, 2017 Share August 1, 2017 All car owners, never send your car to Autobac for servicing. They are using the machine to do checking on your car and not 'human'. When there is anything happened to your car, it was the 'machine' has does the job and not the 'human'. Nothing to blame on either Machine or the Mechanic, blame yourself for being unlucky to encounter this problem. Go for service at your own risk! Although they are willing to give you a free service, who will dare to go and allowing them to damage your car and giving them opportunity to charge the parts just for the 'safety' of other road user? We sent our car first time at Autobacs for regular servicing on 8th July 2017, Saturday (Morning). We waited for few hours and the car was ready about 3+, We paid for the fees of standard package for cooler and changed whatever recommended by the Mechanic, Andy. We spent $343.80 For the total services and parts changed and drove to Whampoa to visit my parents-in-law. That was appropriately a half hour drive. After which, we wanted to head home at around 7.30pm. The car stalled and had to be towed to Autobacs Ubi. Please bear in mind that we still had to find our own means of transport to get home from Whampoa to Tampines and next day from home to Ubi for collection of car again. The next morning, the mechanic called and denied that it was their fault. They claimed that the parts were old and we needed to pay MORE for the parts that were too old. They also claimed that the problem did not lie on the coolant, yet the reason for break-down was because it was overheated (according to them). Fine, we were wary but we still told them to go ahead. We can't do anything much anyway, since the car is with them. Our car was in perfectly good condition before the servicing. We just brought it for regular checks to make sure everything is fine. However, after the check and change of part, IT BROKE DOWN. That's not the best part, at 1.30pm, they called us again to inform that ANOTHER PART needs to be changed. Wow. It must be nice to have someone saying "Okay Okay" to everything they suggest right. They gave the same excuse, too old, needs to be changed, while giving a stuck-up attitude, as if we owe them. If we are not going to change the parts, they will put back the part and they won't bear any consequences, at the end, we spent another $348 for the parts which was caused by the overheating which the Mechanic, Andy did not check properly and rush to complete the work. We went there as customers. Yet, we left feeling dignified and let-down at such poor service. We should have checked the feedbacks and reviews given by other customers on Facebook before actually heading to Autobacs. After the incident, we went to check the reviews and found out that we're not the only ones that got "conned". Sure, you might argue that it's not explicit conning but constantly taking out money to fix the car AFTER the check felt terrible. Why didn't the Mechanic inform us at the first check? They only told us that our car had SO MANY PROBLEM after it broke down AFTER the check and put the blame on us for driving when the water is leaking? Go ahead, send your car to Autobacs if you want to experience a rollercoaster of emotions. Go ahead, if you feeling rich and wants to be chop on the cutting board like cabbages. Go ahead, if you want to experience the 'BEST' service. With that being said, that's the last time you'll be seeing us at Autobacs. Good riddance. Vratenza Supersonic August 2, 2017 Share August 2, 2017 I have always wondered why the servicing/workshop section of autobacs are always full of cars and many car owners milling around the merchandise section waiting for their cars to be ready. I do see a higher percentage of female drivers or couples amongst the car servicing crowd. Autobacs stuff are expensive. The only reason i drop in once in a while is pick up some car maintenace stuff that is available in full range there. I guess for the servicing crowd, they tend to be those not too savvy with cars and the big shiny building offers them certain reassurance and comfort. I only go Autobacs to purchase a new mobile vacuum cleaner as my old one (also bought from Autobacs) has spoilt.
Vratenza Supersonic August 3, 2017 Share August 3, 2017 These days I don't even go there for car accessories or tools anymore. Taobao has everything that autobacs have in wider range and cheaper price. Talking about mobile car vacuum, i got one from taobao that have various nozzle attachments and most important one is one that is a long hose with brush head tip to brush and suck up the dirt in those hard to reach corners. It also double function as a tire pump. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. I only go Autobacs to purchase a new mobile vacuum cleaner as my old one (also bought from Autobacs) has spoilt.

I see that Lazada is selling the Soft99 products more expensive than Autobacs. So no choice but to patronise Autobacs. Unless you know of another online retailer got full range of Soft99 products at a cheaper price than Autobacs.
Adrianli Hypersonic August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 I have want to keep all car owners to aware of autobac techniques on cheating customers, don let anyone to fall on their markets traits I read so much but no mention of what actually broke down? The radiator? The radiator fan? Engine block? Coolant reservoir? Can let us know which item failed and what was serviced at Autobacs, like which system, coolant, lub oil, fuel or air. Vratenza Supersonic August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 I agree. Autobacs have the widest selection of Soft99 products. I don't do DIY detailing or waxing, so don't really need to buy those, exept once when my car got some faint scratches I want to polish it off myself. Soft99 is quality japanese product, price definitely quite stiff. I cant find anywhere else has a full range of Soft99 products. So I get it from Autobacs. Beregond Supersonic August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 personally i feel sending car for servicing is like going to see doctor. like our family doctor, we dun change them every time we fall sick or need medical check up. or when we see another doctor have a cheaper body check up package right? sending car for servicing also the same, if u find 1 workshop then can click with u 1, just stick with it. dun see paper got wat offer/ promotion then u change workshop, in the long run , u lose out more. Adrianli Hypersonic August 4, 2017 Share August 4, 2017 Nothing breakdown, only sending to check on coolen n engine oil What was changed that cost u $343.80? What is there to check on coolant and engine oil? Look at the manual/AD recommendation on mileage to change and change it. Nothing to check unless u suspect there is a leak or it is overheating. Coolant system is a closed system.

I only go Autobacs to purchase a new mobile vacuum cleaner as my old one (also bought from Autobacs) has spoilt. i only go to autobacs to blow aircon and have free parking, when i have time to kill when i'm in the area. hardly ever buy anything unless its some strange accessory that caught my eye and I'm itchy to buy something. i cringe when i see how the mechs do things via the glass window at the ubi outlet. The replies to some of the customers questions on if a product is good or not are classic. I try very very hard not to snigger aloud.
