Kb27 Supersonic April 1, 2013 Share April 1, 2013 Home and car aircon work in a totally different environment. For home, pipings are sealed, and there is almost zero vibration. For car, pipings have joints, prone to leak and corrosion, vibration is part of the killer. So don't think home aircon no need maintenance means car aircon no need.

Cephas 3rd Gear April 25, 2013 Author Share April 25, 2013 I found out too late after I changed the compressor. Sad... Did you discuss with the workshop on the aircon fault scenario before committing to go ahead with their recommdation?
Jamesc Hypersonic April 25, 2013 Share April 25, 2013 Sad... Did you discuss with the workshop on the aircon fault scenario before committing to go ahead with their recommdation? Yes I did. First the worker checked my car and then the manager checked my car. And they told me I needed to change the compressor. And there were right. Changing the compressor at $500 really solved the problem. However changing the magnetic clutch at $200 will also solve the problem. If I believed they did a good job, I will tell everybody. However if people reading this still want to go to L & Kim, please don't let me stop you. But as you can imagine I will NEVER ever go to this workshop again in my life. Jamesc Hypersonic April 25, 2013 Share April 25, 2013 How u found out that u only need to replace magnetic clutch? Maybe the other workshop try to rub salt into yr wound coz u did not go to them? I kept the old compressor to check on the magnetic clutch. I still have the old compressor in my store room and any expert can verify if they like. But for me I will never give them any more business in my life. Seems like quite difficult to find honest air con workshop. Last time went to Tomika and was told to change compressor. End up after changing, still need to go back few times cos not cold. Finally, was told due to some blocked valve n dun know what silica broken. Still need to pay for those repair cos not related to compressor. Till today, I'm still wondering if really need to change compressor in the 1st place. Mgmgphyo 1st Gear April 25, 2013 Share April 25, 2013 So which shop can really check whether it's compressor or clutch problem. I went to one shop last week and the shop say need to change compressor. Then another shop said gas a bit low and they top up gas. So far it's ok. ↡ Advertisement
