Happily1986 5th Gear March 22, 2013 Share March 22, 2013 Is it safe to get an unlocked mobile phone for use in Singapore? The price difference is huge! All phones meant for the Singapore market cannot be locked to any carrier as stipulated by IDA. Are you talking about a grey import.
Siewss 1st Gear March 22, 2013 Author Share March 22, 2013 Yes, import set. Just want to know if it can work in Singapore. Don't really mind about warranty.
Mcf777 Turbocharged March 22, 2013 Share March 22, 2013 most of the Grey set (Parallel) sold in singapore can be used here. Unless you bought it from overseas. Some phones are locked to that country network only. if you want grey set, can get it from Narajan electronics (along race course road). I just bought 10 sets of Nokia 1280 model for my india workers. very cheap. S$20 per set. most place selling S$23 to S$29.

Siewss 1st Gear March 23, 2013 Author Share March 23, 2013 TS, are you planning to buy overseas? Yes, they will be shipped from overseas sources. So now at least I've gotten pass my understanding of unlocked phones, I have to consider if the sellers are genuine - they hail from Malaysia and Nigeria. They will only ship after confirming my payment.
