Kangadrool Supersonic March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 Don't quite understand.... can explain clearer? How does the tiptronic gear works? It work similar to manual mode without the clutch, right? It's a torque converter gearbox. If you drive an auto, why bother to shift gears manually? Only downshift manually when down slope or steep up slope, which any auto car can do also. Whether it's torque converter (slush box) or automated/robotized manual (AMT, Selespeed, DSG, EDC, EGS, etc, etc) gearbox, all got clutch one lah except there's no need for you to step of the physical clutch pedal de. ↡ Advertisement

Forte3737 5th Gear March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 Dont think many people go back AD for servicing. So go outside workshop servicing should be much cheaper. normal servicing at outside WS still ok. but if parts spoil, then very expensive and parts may not be easily available
Forte3737 5th Gear March 23, 2013 Share March 23, 2013 What I know is the parts cost more than other jap and Korean cars... Call Song Yi autoparts to check price.. very ex. Somemore they don't bring in the parts readily.. sometimes only Alpine has the parts and have to buy from them. My father drive a Captiva diessel.. pain in the neck to buy parts. hyundai and kia are much better in terms of spare parts availability
Kohck Clutched March 23, 2013 Author Share March 23, 2013 normal servicing at outside WS still ok. but if parts spoil, then very expensive and parts may not be easily available I was told servicing outside authorized workshop will void the warranty. How true is this and do Alpine Motor follow this rule strictly?
