Sabian Turbocharged March 18, 2013 Share March 18, 2013 why don't deploy drones? more mobile. and the drone operators can get more hands-on practice. within 6 months probably can achieve 100% ROI plus operating expenses.
Maxus-MIFA9 Supersonic March 18, 2013 Share March 18, 2013 (edited) Guys, bewear of the work "Parking" ..... "Parking" under the Road Traffic Act (Law Book) means bring the vehicle to a complete stop anywhere along the side of a road. That is, even alighting or picking up passenger or the wheels not in motion are consider as 'parking'. When it is "illegal parking"...... Parking anywhere that is not indicated as a desinated parking area is "Illegal Parking" So installing CCTV to catch 'illegal parking' here by LTA is very grey..... Example at Golden Mile area where one stop to alight passengers to catch a bus to MY or Thailand. So does it consitute an offence of "illegal parking" if the CCTV capture it ????? Same for those who are driving taxi will know that in CBD area, there are desinated alight/picking-up area and if they stop anywhere in CBD (let says Shenton Way) they can be summoned for illegal parking & alighting or picking-up passengers ... Alpha78 6th Gear March 19, 2013 Share March 19, 2013 our term parking and other countries different. although its the same word That's why we end up having single and double zig-zag lines. Double yellow line - No parking. Single zig-zag line - No waiting, boarding and alighting passengers allowed. Double zig-zag line - No stopping. Based on that, parking should be defined as engine off and driver dismount.

Atonchia Supersonic March 19, 2013 Share March 19, 2013 Saw this last night. I think it's about time for this, using enforcement officers will cost more and they definitely have difficulty on recruitment with the recent tightening of foreign labours. Installing cameras makes more sense if the illegal parking is rampant around those area. The camera is 24/7 while enforcement officers is only occasional. It will definitely smoothen traffic at those locations.
