SHENZHEN, China - Three bikini-clad activists carried signs at Luohu Checkpoint in Shenzhen on March 8 (International Women's Day) to encourage mainland women to breastfeed their babies instead of buying milk powder from Hong Kong.

Hong Kong mothers have been complaining that their local supply of milk powder are getting snapped up by people from the mainland.

To curb the low supply of milk powder, the Hong Kong government has implemented a new regulation which allows people crossing the border into the mainland to possess up to two cans of milk powder.

However, in March 2013, 25 people were arrested for attempting to smuggle milk power bought from Hong Kong into the mainland, reported TheShanghaiist.com.

One of the activists said since there is a limited supply of milk powder, mainland women should start breastfeeding their babies. Breast milk benefits both the mother and child, she added.

Turbocharged

I can understand why they wear a bra since it is about breastfeeding.

But why wear panty? The bottom half should have nothing to do with breastfeeding.
