Now where you all pump petronas...wanna give it a try nearby causeway...

have been trying caltex for a while

From first link, usually I will go to the straight road beside KPJ Puteri Specialist Hospital where lots of different petrol kiosks and fruit stalls are located. Petronas is the one furthest away from the hospital. If it's from 2nd link, then it's a no brainer, the one nearest to the CIQ.

Every weekend, I see Petronas ads on tv. Either Lewis Hamilton or Nico Rosberg will be telling you how advance their oils are. Channel Fox Sports 1 or 2.

lol yeah. sometimes i wish they just skip that. getting irritating and i just wanna watch the race.

well, season's over [:/]

Read the BHP brochure claiming the 97Ron fuel has the highest additive of 800ppm compare to other fuel 400ppm such as She'll, Patronas, Caltex etc.

I tried a few time and believe possibly true. Has clocked higher mileage on highway for my FD2.

sounds good. maybe will give it a try at the station after the money changer.

Hi all, my understanding is that petrol prices in Malaysia are standardized. In that case, there is no incentive for companies to add quality additives to the petrol right? It will just be the standard Ron 95/97 from the refinery. Views?

Ron 95 or 97 is not related to additive in the petrol.

In chemistry term, Ron 95 has higher H2O content compare to Ron 97.

Different brand such as SHELL, PETRONAS, ESSO, PETRO. BHP etc has their own formulating additive to improve the engine performance. Contrary to this, different engine such as VTEC, VVTi, DVVT engine also has difference performance on different petrol.

You need to find out which petrol is best suitable for your car. Try different type and feel the diff.

In SIN road, don't expect a lot of different in petrol for Ron 95 & Ron 98 due to start /stop driving pattern & short trip.

However, try driving in NSH up to Malacca, you will sense the best of the engine power..... [bounce1]

but if all the companies have to sell petrol at the same price, there is no 'real" incentive to add the additive right? in singapore, market forces kind of determine the pump price, and shell is selling at a slight premium.

yes, usually the last counter (counter #10) of each immigration lane will also be a TnG booth. Can top up TnG and pay entry toll.

I don't know if this counter sells new TnG card. I guess they will have to sell it somewhere at the immigration area as they don't accept cash anymore.

When in Malaysia, I look for Petronas stations first to refuel. Hopefully, this is a one-off incident.

PETALING JAYA: Petronas Dagangan Bhd will investigate claims made on social media that several vehicles stalled after being fuelled at one of their stations.

"Our initial assessment indicates that this is due to product mishandling that happened only at this particular station," said the company.

"Petronas Station Solaris Besraya is now temporarily closed as we continue our investigations," it added.

Petronas Dagangan also said that approximately 20 cars were affected after fuelling at Petronas Station Solaris Besraya.

In the incident which occurred at about 7am on Friday (Dec 28), several cars broke down by the side of the Sungai Besi Highway.

PETALING JAYA: A petrol station along the Sungai Besi Highway has reopened after water was removed from a leaky tank.

Petronas Dagangan Berhad (PDB) said it had thoroughly investigated the Friday morning (Dec 28) incident at Petronas Station Solaris Besraya station, where several cars broke down after filling up their tanks there.

On social media, several people claimed that their vehicles had stalled by the side of the Sungai Besi Highway after fuelling up there.

According to a statement by PDB, the investigation found leakage in one of the fuel tanks at the station, which contaminated the fuel with water.

"Immediate remedial actions were taken to flush out the contaminated fuel and isolate the affected tank.

"PDB has been in contact with and is assisting the customers affected by this morning's incident," they added.

Following thorough checks and fuel integrity tests carried out at all pumps at said station, the station has now resumed business operations as usual.

"The team will remain on site today and tomorrow to render any further assistance required.

"Again, PDB apologises for all inconveniences caused," it added.
